Makeup organizing tips

I spent a few minutes today organizing and sorting out my makeup collection. I’ve been trying to find better ways to organize and store my products. Since I don’t have a lot of space I’ve found these tips to be useful. 

Organizing products don’t have to break the bank. I’ve found a few great options that fit my needs at my local Dollar Tree.
I’ve also found that reusing boxes from gift sets helps to keep things organized as well.  Granted they have many great options out there. I”ll list them at the end of the post. 

Using Pencil holder

I happened to find this pencil holder at my local Dollar Tree. It fit my space perfectly. I liked that i can section out my makeup products. I also liked that its great to keep my brushes organized. It also fit most of my mascara’s as well.  since it has a handle it’s easy to carry as well.  FYI i organized it after I took the photo. But all in all you can’t beat a dollar for a storage organizer. 

Repurpose Old items

I’ve found some great uses for old boxes from fragrance gift set or even old containers from gift sets. I use them for smaller items or for flat items that need to be folded like a scarf or gloves. 

This cube was from an old nail polish set I was given many years ago. it’s such a great storage container because it’s deep enough to hold items and includes a top I didn’t include in the picture.

This is great because it hold all my nail polish and it’s all in one place. Being able to repurpose a container is great because you don’t have to throw it away. So it cuts down on waste.

Baskets

Again this was another Dollar Tree find. You can’t beat 2 baskets for a dollar. These are great because you can use them to store extra items. Such as new makeup sponges, blenders or things of that nature. If you purchase some that have holes like I did you can always line them with tissue paper or even a paper towel to keep things intact. 

These baskets are great for other items as well. If you have smaller eye shadow palettes or lip palettes. I also liked that they have a handle so they are easy to carry.

Mesh bags

I found that mesh or organza bags are an inexpensive storage tip. I like to use them for my individual eyeshadows, liquid eyeshadows and any smaller makeup items i have. 

depending on the size you can fit a fair amount of products in them. I also like that it keeps them all in one spot. I just grab my bag and pick out the items i need as I go about my makeup routine. 

Makeup Organizer trays

If your looking for something that will give you more storage space a makeup organizer may fit your needs. There are a few options. I have a smaller tray that fits my needs. You can find them online or in most big box or discount stores. 

They are sold in a variety of sizes and options. Some are stackable or have storage drawers as well. I think it just all depends on your needs along with how much space you have available.
