I recently was able to try a free bottle of Downy Wrinkle Guard thanks to Try it sampling. I’ve never been a big user of fabric softener/conditioner but I figured I’d give it a try. It arrived fairly quickly.
I’ve been using it for a few days now and I’ve found some pros and cons about the product.

Downy Wrinkle Guard is a fabric conditioner. It softens the fibers. It’s stated to help combat wrinkles in clothing when you wear it.
Overall the product is a liquid. I found it to be a bit runny. I’m not very familiar with the standard consistency of fabric conditioners. So I expected it to be a bit more liquid laundry detergent.

User experience
Overall the product seems pretty straightforward. However, there are a few things to note. According to the bottle, you shouldn’t use fabric conditioner on terry cloth material and children’s sleepwear.
The product worked well when I used it for my clothing. I only tried a small amount to start just to see what the product was like.
I used the cap indicator line. 1 is for small loads 2 is for larger loads.
The pour spout helps direct the fabric conditioner.
However, when pouring it into the cap take it slow. Since it’s a bit runny it will splash.
If you have a top-loading washer you can add it in after you add your laundry detergent. If you have a High-Efficiency machine you can pour it out from the cap or straight from the bottle into the fabric softener dispenser.
The softener has a light fresh scent. It was noticeable but nothing too overwhelming.
My clothing didn’t have any signs of fading or any type of film left on them when I took them out of the washer.
does it work?
Well, I can say I think it works to a degree. It may depend on the clothing and fabric. As well as how wrinkled the item gets when worn. Also, it may depend on how how much fabric conditioner you used for the load.
For me, I noticed some general wrinkling from drying. But my clothes tended to smooth out after a while. As far as combating wrinkles when wearing my clothes I didn’t take the time to check but I had some general creasing from sitting but again they seemed to smooth out.
So this may a user by user bases in terms of results.
final thoughts
I can say I’m happy I tried Downy Wrinkle Guard. It didn’t leave any odd feeling to my clothing. Nor did it have an overwhelming artificial fragrance.
As far as keeping wrinkles at bay when I wear my clothes that’s still yet to be seen. I’m not checking every time I get out of the car or get out of my chair.
So it’s sort of nice to have but I don’t really think I need it. I can see it being very useful for people who are working in an office environment where they want to look their best.
