I thought I’d share a few products that surprised me by how well they held up in high heat. The products were worn by myself in 90-plus-degree heat. Please excuse the fact that I didn’t take photos. It was a busy day and I didn’t think about it beforehand.

On Monday, August 28th I was away from my desk for most of the day. I had to attend a family event. So part of that required us to be outdoors for a little while. Well, it was a hot day and boy did some of the products I used surprise me. We were outdoors in 90-plus-degree heat at around noon so you know it was hot. All of the products mentioned were used for a total of 12 hours.

skincare

I applied my moisturizer like usual then opted to add sunscreen.

I used the L’oreal Revitalif Broad Spectrum SPF 50.

I’ve shared about this in the past but here’s a video review.

The SPF absorbs well into the skin and doesn’t leave a white cast. I let it absorb well before applying any further products.

L’Oreal Paris Revitalift SPF 50 (video)

I like that the SPF doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.

Overall the product works well. Since I was applying it under makeup I made sure to apply a fair amount because I knew I wasn’t going to reapply it.

This sunscreen worked well under my makeup and primer. I didn’t have any pilling or separation.

It seems that since my original video, the product packaging has been changed.

Primer

I used a sample that I had from Makeup Forever. It was from a Sephora Favorites bag I bought last year.

The primer’s name is:
STEP 1 PRIMER HYDRA BOOSTER PERFECTING AND SOFTENING BASE.

The primer is an orangish peach shade. I was wondering how well it would work but I liked that it applied evenly and turns clear. It’s light weight and did offer good hydration. It didn’t leave my skin feeling heavy or oily.

Best of all it held my makeup well and didn’t cause any speration or caking.

foundation

I was using an Il Makiage foundaiton I bought last summer. This was the frist time I’d used it in higher tempetures. I can say it held up well. I did have sweat beading on my face but the makeup stayed. I did have some seperation or transfer around my nose where my glasses are but that’s pretty normal for me.

The foundation held up well after 12 hours of wear as well by the time I got home my face was dewy but my makeup didn’t seem smeared or patchy.

I have two foundaitons shade 90 and shade 130 I think I used shade 130. One of them offers a better color match. The other tends to oxidize a bit on the yellow side.

Concealer & highlighter

I used Tarte creaseless concealer and the highligher stick. I had purchased a small duo set last year during the holidays.

The concealer is easy to apply and blends out smoothly. I think it has medium to full coverage. The concealer didn’t cake or smear.

The highligher stick is easy to use. You can apply it with a brush or dab it onto the skin. I found it blended out smoothly and has a nice soft shimmer.

The highlighter didn’t smear or speerate. It also didn’t seem to melt off my face.
