Pinchme recently notified me that I qualified for a free sample product. So I checked it out. Well I was able to select the Olay Regenerist Ultra Rich Moisturizer. I figured it was worth a try. I couldn’t beat free. The product arrived at the end July.
Being that I had tried Olay skincare in the past for me it could be hit or miss. This Regenerist product wasn’t any different.
the product
The first thing I noticed about the moisturizer was that the box is a bit big for the jar. I also thought it was wasteful packaging. But that’s nothing new that was my gripe about the last product I tried as well.
The jar and box are very colorful. They have the usual red with silver lettering Olay uses for the Reegenerist line. The jar itself is 1.7 fl oz in size.
The product itself is well protected. The jar includes a plastic protector seal.
The moisturizer can be used twice a day. Morning and evening. it is to be applied to a cleansed face.

User experience
I found the moisturizer to be very thick. To me it was almost like cold cream consistency.
The moisturizer is a standard white shade. I was surprised the jar was so full. I was expecting some form of settling due to shipping. I was also expecting it to be a bit runny since it was delivered on a very hot day.
I tested a small amount on my hand. The instant i scooped a small amount off the plastic protector lid I knew it was going to be a bit greasy.
It does blend well into the skin even thought it is thick it tends to warm as you work it in your hands.
with all this being said I do have a few cons about this moisturizer.
Here are my cons about this product
I found that even though this moisturizer was thick yet it softened as it was worked in between my hands. I found this product to be very greasy. I don’t know if this was just my experience but my hands felt a bit oily after applying it to my face.
As for the moisturizing or hydrating factor I didn’t have either. I found that it just sat on some areas of my skin. It didn’t absorb well. I tried it for a few days straight and had the same results. I found that my forehead felt very oily. Yet my nose and chin area were dry. I also didn’t think the product absorbed into certain areas of my cheeks either.
I also didn’t feel like it rinsed off my skin well. It felt like it absorbed the water or that my face felt slick.
Again this may have just been my experience. It may have also had to do with the weather. It was well into the 100’s those days so this too may have been a factor.
Another thing I’d like to point out as a con is wasteful packaging. The box is a bit too large for the jar. I understand why this is done to add more of a support for the jar during shipping. But the jar can still rattle around in the box.
Now that i have that out of the way let’s finish up.
final thoughts
I can say that I was a bit disappointed by this moisturizer. It wasn’t for me. It didn’t seem to absorb fully into my skin. Nor did it hydrate or moisturize as it claimed it would. I didn’t like that my hands felt greasy after I applied. it. I also thought it just sat on my skin. Especially my forehead, chin and cheeks. No matter how well i rubbed it into my skin.
All i can say is that maybe OLAY REGENERIST ULTRA RICH MOISTURIZER FRAGRANCE-FREE is better suited for the fall or winter as opposed to summer. I have dry skin year around and wasn’t impressed by it.
So let’s get to the price point. According to Olay’s website the product retails for $38.99 USD. The moisturizer is listed as being out of stock at date of this post being written (8/10/2020) but you can check back to see when it is added.
I can safely say i will stick with my current skincare products. Personally I didn’t think it was worth the price. But someone else may have a different experience.
