dscout: Helping brands learn what consumers really want

I’ve been using dscout for a few weeks now. I originally signed up for an account for a Bullseye Insiders project. I wasn’t selected for it but I kept the app installed anyway. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been apart of two missions that dscout offered.

Before I go any further let me get this out of the way. dscout is an app that you can download. They offer various missions that you can apply for and if you are selected you are notified. The app is offered via Apple and Google play stores.

What do you do?

The two missions I’ve participated in were fun and easy to follow. I was able to help test a set of T-shirts. Both missions were seven parts. Many of the tasks weren’t very trying. How hard is it to wear a T-shirt. The best part was I was allowed to keep the shirts once the missions were over. So to me, that’s an extra bonus.

The missions may vary from simple tasks to even having a live chat with a rep from dscout to share your opinions on a select topic. You apply for a mission by submitting a few answers to a short survey or even a short video. Sometimes it may be both. Each mission gives you an outline of the mission and the number of openings there are. You are notified by the app and an email if you are selected or invited to a mission you applied for. You can decline to join the mission if you choose too.

Besides that is there any incentive?

Did I mention you get paid for your help? The payment varies from mission to mission. You are paid via Paypal. The moderators of the missions let you know when you will be paid. you are also sent a notice from the app and an email as well.

Payment may vary from mission to mission. I’ve seen payments from around $25 to upwards of over $100. If it’s tech-related it may be more. Again this may depend on the topic or what the tasks are for the missions.

For the T-shirt missions, I was a scout for the payout was over $100 and of course, i was allowed to keep the shirts as I mentioned above.

What’s the catch?

So far I haven’t found any real catch. You may be asked to download apps or sign a consent form depending on the mission you are selected for. You may also be contacted for an interview if the mission requires one. Of course, you may have to count any earnings on your taxes but that’s a given.

Is it worth it

I would think if you’re someone like me who likes ot share their opinion on various topics an you feel comfortable using an app why not give it a try. I like the easy to use interface and the quick application processes.

There are also region-specific missions as well. I noticed a few pop up recently for select cities or areas of the country. Overall i don’t have any real cons about the app.

The moderators are easy to reach if you have issues with a mission. So if you think this is an app for you visit the links provided.
