Over the last few weeks, I’ve been sent a number of Dove products to test thanks to Top Box Circle (Or Top Box for short).

One of the products I was selected to test was a body polish from Dove. I’ve tried one of these in the past and loved it.

This one was no different.

The product

The box arrived with a note card.

Dove has a variety of body polish products. Each product has a different scent and exfoliating grade or type.

You can view them all here. The jars are graded from 1 dot to 3 dots in exfoliation type. 3 dots seems to be the highest exfoliation type.

The one I was sent was the Brown Sugar & Coconut butter scent and it’s the 3-deep exfoliation type.

This body polish can be used up to 4 times a week. I would suggest that if you have sensitive skin or you are new to body polishes start off by using it once a week then move up from there.

This product contains brown sugar and coconut butter. it smells divine. it’s not too sticky or oily.

The color is brown but it has light sweet yet tropical notes to it.

User experience

The exfoliating body polish is pretty self-explanatory. You can start off by using a small amount and lightly rubbing it across your damp skin.

I used it on my upper arms and legs. Basically places I felt that need exfoliating. Due to its abrasive nature, you don’t have to rub too hard. Since this is a 3-dot exfoliation body polish it’s a bit on the gritty side yet it’s smooth too.

Once again if you have sensitive skin you may want to spot test to make sure you don’t have any adverse reactions.

You can use this body polish up to 4 times a week. This may vary depending on your needs. I use it once a week or when I feel I need exfoliation.

The brown sugar and coconut butter scent is light and fades. I felt it did leave my skin feeling softer and exfoliated. I didn’t feel that my skin was dry or irritated.

How much product should you use?

I would say this would depend on the area you want to exfoliate. You can start off by using a spatula or plastic spoon and scooping a small amount out. If you are using your fingers I’d say use two fingertips of product or even one to start. Since you want a bit of a thin layer less is more. the product spreads easily over the skin.

So I’d say maybe a dime to nickel-size amount and work your way up for larger areas.

Does this leave your skin sticky?

Since this has brown sugar in it you may wonder if it leaves your skin feeling sticky. it doesn’t it rinses clean and doesn’t leave any residue behind.

Final thoughts and where to buy

Final thoughts

Overall the Dove exfoliating body polish works well. I liked that it can be used when needed. The texture is smooth yet offers noticeable exfoliators. I liked that the scent was light but not too artificial. The body polish rinses clean and didn’t cause too much irritation to my skin.

The only thing I would have liked is that Dove provides a spatula or scoop to remove the product without having to stick your fingers in it.
