Back in 2018, I shared about a Sable air mattress. It was great because it was full-size (the box was mislabeled as a twin). It didn’t require a pump because it included a cord for faster inflation. The cord was a standard wall plug.

Here’s my original video review.

When I originally posted the video I set up the mattress and laid on it but didn’t really have any other use for it. So like most things I review it was stored in a closet until we needed it.

This came in handy recently

This air mattress came in handy recently. I had been clearing out my bedroom so I could paint and I was also going to set up a new mattress. So it took me a few days to clear everything out.

You never realize how much stuff you have until you have to clean out a room but I digress.

Being that my bed had been removed I figured I’d use the air mattress.

I liked that it inflated quickly. It has a brushed felt-like material on the top. I was able to make the bed as usual.

The mattress was firm when I laid on it and didn’t seem to sink under my weight. The mattress has a turn knob with a vent for easy inflation and deflation. It also has a plug for a pump as well.

The cord was a dent length and inflation was under 5 minutes.

my first night’s sleep

During my first night of sleep, it did take some getting used to. It was firm but not so hard that it was uncomfortable. I did worry I had over-inflated it because it did seem to bulge upward in the center a bit.

Once I was comfortable I fell asleep. I would suggest using a mat or a pad under the mattress because if you are using it on a bare floor like I was it might slide around a bit.

Teddy napped on the mattress with no issue. Thankfully he didn’t try to scratch.

Once I fell asleep I had a deep sleep so all in all my first night’s sleep on it was good.

My second night’s sleep

My second night’s sleep was about the same. I didn’t inflate the mattress as much and it was a bit more comfortable. Again once ai fell asleep I had a deep sound sleep.

the one thing I did do differently was place the mattress on a sheet. this helped prevent it from moving around so much.

how long does it take to deflate?

The bed takes a bit to deflate. Since it had the valve knob you turn and the air rushed out. But like any inflatable mattress, you will have to help to release the air. I found it took me a few minutes.

Folding it up may be a bit of a challenge too but once it’s deflated, you do have a flat surface to work with.

This Sable air mattress is no longer available on Amazon but you might be able to find one via a reseller site like eBay.

But here are a few similar air mattresses that might interest you.

Overall this product worked well and fit my needs. Sorry, it took me nearly 6 years to give an update on the product. All in all it’s a decent air mattress and came in handy when I needed it.
