I thought I’d make a compilation of a few scam collaboration emails I’ve had over the past week or so. I know these seem silly but it’s worth sharing.
So many people are getting into content creation that it’s hard to keep track of what’s real and what’s not. There are always things to consider prior to replying to the great offers.
Some offers may be from Luxury brands while others may be more budget friendly.
Food or drink collab request
I sometimes get random out-of-the-blue requests from brands offering collaborations for food or drinks. I know most of these are fake.
I always find these requests amusing because many are from what I would consider health niche products. It’s also obvious some of the brands haven’t even looked at my content. Reading the emails you can tell they are basic auto-generated templates.
Fiji water
I had two emails requesting collaborations.
Both emails were sent from an email ending in . (dot) cz which is the Czech Republic. So far me that is a dead giveaway that it’s not real. I’ll get more to that later.
the senders and emails
The emails were sent from the following email address.

Why are these possible scams
The main fact is that they are not sent from a branded email address. Nor are they personalized. They are very generic and request you to reply back with your rates and details. You’d also think a brand like Fiji Water would have a PR department to send out emails.
When in doubt always check out the websites that are claiming to contact you and check to see if they have any affiliate or ambassador programs. You can also reach out to their Contact Us page and ask if the email is real. I know it seems silly or embarrassing but some brands are very happy when this info is passed along to them because they are made aware of these scam emails.
hair care brands
I’ve noticed some of these emails are sent after I share a post on social media tagging a brand. These once again may be scams because if they come from non-branded email addresses beware.
Garnier
I had this email requesting a collaboration. I knew it was a fake from the get-go.
The sender and Email
This email was sent from (gasp) a free Gmail account so that’s a dead giveaway.
Official Garnier officialgarniercollection01@gmail.com
Garier Collab requestHello,
Good day from @Garnier. We recently noticed your content, and we believe it would be great to include you for our latest social media collaboration campaign.
You’ve done a great job promoting our Brand Garnier and we are happy to get so much value from it. Your content matches our tone, value, and your engagement figures look great too. Five free of our cosmetic products will be sent to you for you to post with our hashtags and your exclusive discount code to be mentioned during shout out.
If you are interested in collaborating with us we will like to know how much you charge per post.
Why is this a possible scam?
First of all the way the email is worded. If you are ever sent an email with the word official in it take it with a grain of salt. Secondly, the email is from a Gmail account. So that should set off some red flags. The offer of 5 products is also another type of tactic these types of scammers pull. They assume the offer of products will entice you to reach out. The offer of affiliate marketing is something you can search for online too.
Luxury brands
Last week I had 3 emails from scammers claiming to be from Luxury brands. These were sent after I posted about two luxury products I had tried. One was a fragrance I had finished.
CAROLINA HERRERA
I was sent two emails from a Gmail account. I knew it was a fake but the scammer was persistent the emails were sent within 10 minutes of each other.
The sender and email
This was sent from: COLLABORATION CAMPAIGN carolinaherreracollaborationca@gmail.com.
Hello, 💞
We @Carolinaherreraofficial are just launching our newest fragrance line and we noticed you have been a fan of our work. So we are just launching our influencer campaign and really want you involved, you would get free monthly packages (10 items of your choice per month), your own exclusive discount code to share, shoutouts and reposts to our Instagram and website! How is this a scam?
This reminds me of the Fashion Nova Scam emails. They offer you products once again and affiliate marketing opportunities. The thing that got me was the emoji that was used following hello. I don’t think many PR reps would use an emoji in a business email. I could be wrong but it’s a bit odd to see. The @ they used was from TikTok. The fact that the email wasn’t signed with a name should also make you wonder.
YSL
I had a YSL email collab request. Again like the other’s, it’s a scam.
The sender and email
Yslbeauty yslbeautykollab@gmail.com

YSL collab request
Where’s the scam?
The fact that the email was sent from a Gmail account is pretty obvious. Yes, it looks professional but the suggestion of payment for shoutouts doesn’t sound like something a luxury brand would offer. The PR packages are giving me hints of the Fashion Nova Scam emails again.
Tech collabs
I don’t get these emails very often but when I do they usually want me to do ad placements on YouTube.
Samsung
I’ve had these emails in the past but they are very generic. I think they use the same AD placements email but just change the Brand or Company name on them.
The sender and the email
The senders were the following:
ladymcnally@seznam.cz

Where’s the scam?
To start off with both emails were sent from the Czech Republic. The emails are pretty basic and vague because they are asking you to reply back if you are interested in collaborating. The second email is unprofessional because I don’t think a reputable tech company would start an email out with Yo! The first email is pretty cookie-cutter copy-and-paste content because it’s not even addressed to me or even to Life with Pal. It’s just Sir/ Madame. So you know the person didn’t even view my YouTube channel to see which would be correct.
Do your own research
I know it’s exciting to see names like YSL or Samsung in your inbox but always do your research first. You can also look up any affiliate marketing opportunities or ambassador programs via the brand’s websites as well. Always check the email addresses and sender’s info. You can also do a quick online search about the collab email.
What happens if you reply back?
I assume these might be a money wire scam or maybe a phishing or ID thief. It may even be a gift card scam. I can’t say. I’ve never replied back to these emails because I know they are fake.
Share your thougths in the comments about these scam collaborations.
