I think we all have times where we need to organize an area. My biggest issue was my studio. I have a lot of stuff in there and half of it is just a clutter mess. Well I found a few solutions to help me be a bit more organized and declutter.

use the door

My studio has a metal door so I figured i’d buy some magnets and use the door as a storage area. This helps because now have a place for a few things that were taking up room.

I thought I could add a few metal hooks to the door and use it to hold a small table and my apron and other things.

I will say this much depending on the weight of the item you want to hang from the door you will need to check the capacity of the hooks you order. The ones I’ll share worked well but I still think i should have found some that were heavy-duty or industrial quality. But for now, they do the job.

I ordered two sets of hooks from Amazon. I found a set of swivel hooks and a set of general hooks. The general hooks came with two sizes a smaller hook and a larger one. The magnets attach with a simple screw on base.

You can take the time to position the hooks to fit your needs.

Depending on the magnets strength you may have to slide it into to position to fit your needs.

Your final result will vary from mine but this was my finished door.

Holiday storage items work year-round

Christmas tree storage bag

I had some rolls of fabric that i had purchased a few years back at my local Habitat for Humanity Restore. Well I have it covered with two plastic bags. But it’s a pain and I didn’t want them to get dirty.

Being that some of the rolls were around 60 inches long it was hard to find the right storage container for them. Well, the thought struck me that I should buy a Christmas tree storage bag. So I searched for one. Like with most products you find pros and cons. I finally settled on one and placed my order.

The storage bag i ordered stated it was 65 inches. I was very happy with the quality. It was a tight knit canvas style material. It had sturdy handles too.

I was pleased when I found out that the rolls of fabric I have fit with out any issue. They even had a few inches to spare.

I will admit that if you load the bag up it will be heavy to move. But I was able to fit all 5 rolls of fabric, an adjustable curtain rod and another bundle of fabric into the bag. It has plenty of room left over. I was also able to fit it into the cabinet i store it in. It’s a bit floppy at the top due to the extra space but it’s not big deal.

wrapping paper storage bag

When I ordered the Christmas Tree storage bag I also ordered a wrapping paper storage bag. I figured I could use it for a few things. But I found out the item I wanted to put in it was too long. So I improvised.

I used it to store my extra packing paper. I like to save it because I use it when I paint or seal something.

The wrapping paper storage bag held a fair amount of packing paper. Like the Christmas tree storage bag it’s a canvas like material. It’s pretty sturdy and had a decent zipper at the top.

I hope these storage ideas help you organize better.
