It’s Pet Appreciation Week. This is a week of sharing appreciation for your pet. I thought I’d share a few ways we celebrate our pets this week.

For me, I can say Pal was the first pet I owned as an adult and he really put me to the test. I’d never owned a cat before so it showed me how to care for one. I learned all about cats in the process. I also learned to love a little ball of fluff.

All pets are appreciated

It doesn’t matter if you have a goldfish or a snake or a cat or a dog. All pets count this week. This allows us as pet owners or pet parents (for those who use the term) to share about our pets. It also gives you an excuse to lavish some extra love or treats on them too.

Why we should appreciate our pets

Here are some reasons why we can appreciate our pets.

  • Pets can bring joy to your life
  • They add entertainment.
  • They can help you relax.
  • Others may just love to cuddle on a bad day.
  • They love us unconditionally.

Ways to pamper your pet this week

Here are a few ways to pamper your pet this week.

  • Lavish your pet with extra love.
  • Give them treats.
  • trim their nails or check their paws.
  • Have them groomed.
  • Buy them a new toy, bed, or other item.

Don’t have a pet you can still take part

Even if you don’t currently own a pet you can still participate by volunteering at a shelter or rescue. If you don’t have the extra time you can always help out a family member, friend, or neighbor with a pet. You can give them pets or even take them a treat. You can also donate to a local shelter or rescue group of your choice.

All the Cats here at Life With Pal wish you all a Happy Pet Appreciation Week.
