A few weeks back I was scrolling through Instagram and happened upon a free sample ad. So I requested a sample. I’m always looking to try new products from brands that aren’t familiar to me. So when I saw the Malin+Goetz I was interested in learning more.
The product
The product arrived quickly and it was a sample tube. It arrived in a simple white box with the brand’s logo and product info on it.
This is the first Malin+Goetz product I’ve tried. So I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s a foaming cream cleanser so that was something a bit different for me.
To my surprise the tube is metal. It also has a plastic twist-off cap.
the cleanser is white and is a thicker almost paste-like consistency.
You use a dime size amount. The cleanser can be used daily.

User experience
Overall the cleanser was great. It didn’t strip my skin or leave it feeling dry. It is nourishing yet cleansing. I will say that I was a bit disappointed by its foaming quality. I was expecting more lather. Once applied to my face it felt more like a cream. It did give you light lather but nothing to foaming. Maybe that was just my experience.
I will note that the metal tube is a bit tricky to squeeze at first. Since I’m used to more pliable materials such as plastic or even a pump top product. This one does take a bit of getting used to. Once I reached the end of the tube I was straining to get the last bits of cleanser out.
Aside from that, the product works well and I liked that it left my face feeling clean without being stripped of its natural oils. The cleanser also didn’t seem to have a scent to it. I found that my face felt smooth and clean after rinsing. I didn’t have a lot of skin-pilling either.
final thoughts and pricing
As a whole Malin+Goetz cream foaming cleanser was different. It offers a gentle cleanser with adding nourishment and hydration. I liked that it didn’t have a scent or harsh cleansers in it. My skin felt clean and soft but didn’t feel dry. It also didn’t cause me any redness or irritation. My skin didn’t flake off either.
So in short it was a good sample. The metal tube took a bit of getting used to. Once I found the proper way to handle it and squeeze out the cleanser it wasn’t so bad.
