A few weeks back I was sent a Flamingo razor for reviewing purposes from Try It Sampling (FYI they now have a waiting list so you may be able to join). I’ve been using the razor for more than a month now and I am very happy with it.

First Impressions

When I was sent the email from Try It I wasn’t familiar with the brand. Figuring that it was going to be free what was the harm in trying it right? Well, when I arrived I was very surprised by the quality. It’s very durable and conforms well to your hand. The razor head is detachable and you snap into place easily. It also included an extra head in the box as well as a suction cup holder.

The Flamingo razor I was chose was the Taro and rose gold one. There are a few different color options. overall I can say the razor head was the big draw for me. It has a large wide head with a large moisture strip. I also liked that when you take the product out of the box the head is snapped upward as in flat. The replacement head comes with a plastic shield to avoid cuts.

There are also two other colors that the Flamingo razor is sold in.

Mint

Pomelo

User Experience

I”d used razors in the past with replaceable heads but I either didn’t like them after a short time or the replacement heads were just as expensive as the razor. I also had an issue once where I could no longer find the replacement razor heads. So, in short, I’ve been using disposable razors for a very long time.

I liked the feel of the Flamingo razor in my hand. It’s very lightweight. It’s not too top heavy or too long in the handle. It fits comfortably in your hand. I liked that it has rubber grips on the bottom side of the handle. It also has a finger groove near the top of the handle too.

I will admit I was a bit skeptical at first. But when I used it I was very pleased with the results. I didn’t have one nick. I also found that it glided well over my skin. The moisture strip is wide enough to where it works well over large areas such as your arms or legs. I found that the razor head gave me a good clean shave. It didn’t tug at my skin at all. I did use a little shower gel to shave my legs.

The Flamingo razor includes a suction cup holder if you’d like to leave it within reach in a shower. I didn’t use it but you can check out the slide show below to see what it looks like.

Final Thoughts

I was able to get nearly a months worth of shaves out of the original razor head. According to Flamingo, you should replace them every 6 to 8 uses. Being that its summer I tend to shave more often. Overall it gave me a nice smooth shave. It didn’t tug on my skin. I haven’t had any nicks from the original razor heads. I felt that it handled my problem areas well. I always feel that my knees are a tricky shave. I found that it left my arms and underarms very smooth. I tried it for my bikini line but I felt the head a bit bulky. That’s my opinion maybe it will be fine for you. All in all, I can say I am in love with this razor. It met my needs perfectly.

You can purchase the product and replacement heads directly from Flamingo or at Target (online and in-store). The Flamingo razor retails for $9 USD and the replacement heads come in a pack of 4, 8 or 12. When you purchase at Target you can only buy the pack of 4. Those retail for $8.99 USD.

I found that the razor was about average price to its counterparts. I also thought the replacement heads were also about average price. You will have to try it for yourself to see if it fits your needs and budget. I’ll have a more in-depth video post soon so don’t forget to sign up for Pal’s mailing list.
