If you’re like me and you have a shower-tub combo. You may have extra shower curtain liners or even old ones that you don’t know what to do with.
Well here are a few ideas on how to repurpose them. The shower curtain liners don’t have to be old you can also use new ones if the need arises.
If you’re using an old shower liner
If you’re using an old shower curtain liner you can disinfect it. Basically, make sure it doesn’t have any mold on it or soap scum. You can give it a good rinse with a little bleach and water. Or just rinse it with some soap and water.
You can also make sure the liner doesn’t have any tears or holes in it.
Once it’s dry you can fold it up and store it.
If you’re using a new shower liner
If you purchased an inexpensive shower liner you can open it and let it air out. Some PVA liners might have a smell.
you can also flatten them out a bit as well and get out some of the creases.
Ways to repurpose a liner
You can repurpose the in many ways. Here are a few examples.
as a drop cloth
I used a new shower curtain liner to line my workbench in my studio. It helps keep things clean and also catches any paint drips or other craft mess I might make.
You can also place them down on the floor as a protector.
I also one on my small table to spray crafts or to dry a craft while it’s drying.
This may also be great if you use spray paint for crafts or projects.
protect outdoor furniture
If you have a shower curtain liner or even an old vinyl shower curtain you don’t like anymore. You can always use them as a tablecloth or a table cover. This will work well if you have plants on a table and help keep them from getting water damage.
Or you can use it to cover chairs or a bench you may not be using.
Use it when gardening
You can use the old shower curtain liner to place plants on when transplanting or even put potting soil on it to help keep the mess down.
You can use it for lightweight lawn clippings or leaves. Use it as a wheelbarrow liner to help cut down on a mess.
You can even use it to protect plants during the colder months just remember to leave an air gap and space between the plant and the plastic or PVA.
You can probably even use it to make a DIY greenhouse for small plants.
Use it to protect indoor surfaces
You can use it indoors to protect surfaces. Protect your table when crafting or using watercolors or craft paint.
You can even use it as a drop cloth inside when painting or doing other DIY projects.
