The City of #LongBeach has agreed to #pay $16.6 #million in #refunds of #phone #taxes collected between Aug. 11, 2005 and Dec. 19, 2008 to #settle a #classaction #lawsuit.⠀

A lawsuit claimed that the City collected a five percent #tax on phone services used by residents; however, the ordinance the tax was collected under expressly excluded phone services not taxable under the Federal Excise Tax. ⠀

File a claim by Sept. 15, 2018 to get up to $46 #cash in a standard #refund OR an actual amount #refund with proof of past phone bills.⠀
