I was gifted a few products this year thanks to Hero Cosmetics Skin Squad community. I thought I’d share two that I’ve tried recently.

If you’re not familiar with Hero cosmetics you probably know Mighty pimple patches. That’s part of their brand.

Gentle Milky Cleanser

This product works well. I liked that it’s a gentle cleansing formula. It’s milk-like in its color and doesn’t give you a lot of lather.

The cleanser bottle has an easy-to-use pump top.

This product is stated to be used for sensitive skin that is acne prone. I have dry skin but I still, use it.

I’m not using this regularly so that’s why I’m not including pictures of the product in use. I’ve incorporated it into my skincare routine. I tend to switch my cleansers depending on my skin’s needs.

ingredients Source (Hero Cosmetics)

Note: this cleanser does have PHA in it. So you may want to use sunscreen when using it in the morning.

User experience

Overall the cleanser is gentle and does offer a nice cleansing sensation. It doesn’t strip the skin or leave it feeling excessively dry.

I liked that it doesn’t have much of a scent to it. It also gives you a light lather. You can rinse your face with lukewarm water.

Pore Release blackhead solution

This was a relatively new product from Hero Cosmetics. it’s a blackhead clearing solution. This does contain BHA, PHA, and AHA so you will need to apply sunscreen if you use this during the day. This also contains salicylic acid.

The product is a bluish shade. It can be used once a week and work your way up to 3 times a week. You apply it to blackhead prone areas. it works to break down oil build-up as well in pores.

I don’t have many blackheads but I do have oil buildup on my nose so that’s where I used it.

ingredients (source Hero cosmetics)

Water/Aqua/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Gluconolactone, Arginine, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Nelumbo Nucifera Root Water, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Gardenia Florida Extract, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sodium Levulinate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Maltodextrin, Sodium Anisate, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid.

User experience

I’ve only used the product twice but I can tell you it worked well to break down any excess oils on my nose.

The bottle came with a stopper to reduce spills during shipping. It’s a blue shade and has a light sent to it.

The pore release can be applied to a cotton pad or a reusable pad and swiped over blackhead prone areas.

I found that it helped release any built-up oils after the first use. I didn’t have any redness or skin issues.

final thoughts and where to buy

final thoughts

The Pore release blackhead clearing solution worked great for me. I liked that it can be used weekly or up to three times a week. I would suggest you start using it once a week to see how your skin reacts. I found that even after the first use the pore release cleared up my nose well. My pores looked clearer and cleaner.

Where to buy

Currently, it seems this is available via Hero Cosmetics for $20 USD. Price may vary.

Thanks to Hero skin squad for these complementary products along with the reviewing and testing opportunity.
