There seems to be a rise in PR and collaboration scams among content creators lately. Granted this is nothing new I’ve shared many in the last few months.
That being shared some of the pr or collaboration scams may be convincing to some. Many seem too got to be true.
The email
The sender
I was sent an email DRUNK ELEPHANT SKINCARE MANAGEMENT. I found it odd that the title was all in caps.
The email address is the following:collabs.drunkelephantmanagement@gmail.com
That caught my eye because most of the scam pr or collab emails I’ve had over the last few months to a year have been sent from Gmail addresses.
The offer
The email was a basic PR/ collab offer. It was very friendly in it’s tone and tried to flatter the reader.
You can read the email below.

Why does this scream It’s a Scam?
I’ve had enough of these emails to be able to spot a scam a mile away.
They are filled with red flags 🚩🚩🚩.
The email didn’t greet me by name or social media handle. A simple Hi is a big red flag for me.
The email also promises a lot of stuff for little work. The payouts are rather large.
Another thing that the email mentions is discount codes and discount offers. That’s common with many brands, especially for some affiliate marketing programs.
What kind of scam is this?
It could be a phishing scam where the scammers want to collect information on you. Primarily banking info and personal info such as name, address, date of birth stuff like that.
Always check the email addresses
Remember most brands use their own branded email address. Many don’t send out requests from free mail services such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc.
I know these offers sound great but don’t fall for them.
