I’ve had two emails this week that featured Movavi. The emails were a bit shady because they claimed to be Google Docs that offered a basic letter requesting you to email the PR person to learn more.
I’ve never used Movavi. I’ve looked into the video editor but have never interacted with the brand in any way.
The email
The email got me from the start. It was sent to my reviewsandsavingspal.com email address yet the dot com was right but the rest of the address wasn’t. I found that odd. The email had been forwarded to my Gmail account.
I also noticed that it was a bulk CC-style email. It was like the person just chose random email addresses and sent out the email.
The text in the email reads as follows:
Movavi Commerce Cooperation Proposal shared an item
Movavi Commerce Cooperation Proposal (statofintan2002@offers.movavi-commerce.agency) has shared the following item:Our service offers you cooperation, if you are interested in our offer, please send me your answer to alex.crowling@movavi-business.com example of the scam email text
The email included a link to a doc you could open. I previewed the doc and found it included more links to email if you were interested in the partnership or collab.
The doc text :
Cooperation Proposal

PR Manager
What I found out
I did some research and googled the contact email of the stated PR manager. I found out that Movavi doesn’t have anyone by the name of Alex Crowling listed on their Authors section of the site. I did find Alex Cowling who appears to be a fitness influencer or shares fitness content.
I reached out to Movavi
I reached out to the brand and had a quick reply back. I submitted the screenshots I shared in this post.
The customer service agent let me know that yes the email was a scam. They forwarded it to their support staff.
Things to remember
Here are a few things to remember:
- Most brands use branded emails. Such as brand name dot com.
- don’t open any documents or links. Many email services will let you preview the doc without opening it.
- Check any emails that are included in the emails. You can copy the link and do a quick search.
- when in doubt reach out to the brand. Many brands will reply back quickly and validate if the email is a scam.
- Many brands don’t mass spam email addresses or send CC(carbon copy) emails. This may vary by brand but on average they will email you directly with a proposal.
Don’t fall for this email let’s get the word out.
