Before anyone comes back to me ranting that this is directed at them it is not this just my general opinion if you feel it is directed at you think about that.
I was recently scrolling through one of my social media feeds and came to realization that we have become a society that has the need to post everything we do now.
Before I go off on a tangent let me say this much yes, I am guilty of this myself. I have posted images, or shared things about the things I like. I have also posted pictures of my lunch because it looked good. I know my family and friends probably get tired of seeing product review postings as well.
But this is neither here nor there what I’m trying to say is where’s the fine line between normal postings and over sharing your daily life with the rest of the world.
Let’s be honest I think we all know that one person who chronicles their daily activities from the time they get up to the time they go to bed. Hey it’s great you took your child to school or went to the movies. But do we all need to know you went to the park or to grocery store. I’ve even seen people chronicle their doctors visits.
When I see postings like these i wonder is this a need to be validated by others or does this person have a dire need for us to know they needed groceries. I understand everyone has a need to be important or want to share their daily activities with others. I just think it’s funny in away how we now have to post everything to prove we actually did something with our day.
I”m all for sharing important events such as a birth of child, a graduation things like that but to me many times I feel we are over sharing what we do in an effort to possibly make ourselves feel better or to try to one up each other in a way.
What are you social media pet peeves?
