I’ve tried a lot of sheet masks over the years. Like my previous post on under eye patches, sheet masks can help with various skin needs.
Sheet masks are also affordable and some are even cute or fun designs.
Sheet masks offer a variety of types and styles for various skin issues. Some are for hydration others may be for brightening or acne care. Others may help with overall skin tone or elasticity. Some brands even offer variety boxes that have a mix of masks in them. Or one set type of mask.
Some masks can be made of a thinner paper or some are thicker. Some may be cotton fiber, plant cellulose, or coconut pulp. Others are even a hydrogel or what i like to call gelatin consistency.
No matter what they are made of they usually have some product either toner or essence added to them. Some masks may be dripping wet while others might be a bit damp.
On average most sheet masks can be worn for up to 20 minutes at a time. This may depend on your skin needs.
Hydrating masks
All sheet masks offer some form of hydration but some brands market their masks exclusively for this purpose.
Oh K! Gold Dust Hydrogel Mask
This hydrogel mask was very cooling to the skin and was in two pieces. It was a hydrogel mask and felt like gelatin to me. It did leave my face very hydrated when I removed it.
This has been he only hydrogel sheet mask I’ve used so far.
SNP – Coconut Supercharged Korean Face Sheet MaskÂ
COCONUT WATER SUPERCHARGED SHEET MASK 5 count
I tried these SNP coconut water supercharged sheet masks thanks to 08L USA a while back. These were different. I felt they did hydrate my face well. I still have a few I need to use.
these are usually sold in a pack of 10. I was sent a pack of 5 to test.
brightening masks
Some sheet masks offer a brightening or whitening effect. I’ve tried two so far in the last few years.
The most recent one I tried is the Avajar Whitening Yellow LED Cream mask. I loved the way it worked. I didn’t personally see any brightened or whitening of my skin but it did offer great hydration.
This mask is sold in a 5 pack as well.
Skin improving sheet masks
Some sheet masks offer a few extra skin improving qualities as well as hydration.
SNP COLLAGEN SUPERCHARGED SHEET MASK (10 SHEETS)
I was selected to test 5 of these thanks to 08L USA a while back. They were nice but I felt they were a bit too large.
These are sold in a 10 pack.
Avajar Elasticity mask
This mask by Avajar was similar to the collagen sheet mask. This was stated to help support skin elasticity.
It worked well and didn’t leave my face feeling sticky or tacky. This is sold in a 10 pack box.
Avajar sells a few other sheet mask sets as well.
novelty masks
Who says sheet masks have to be boring. I’ve tried a few cute novelty sheet masks too.
animal face sheet masks
I’ve tried two sperate animal face sheet masks. Each mask had their own appeal and skincare improvement properties.
Joss+ Lyn sheet masks
I tried a tiger and penguin mask from this brand. The tiger mask was a lift and firming mask while the penguin was a hydrating mask.
These sheet masks are sold in a variety pack or a three pack.
SNP Animal Masks
I tried another set of SNP masks thanks to 08l USA. I tried the Tiger and panda masks. The tiger mask was an anti wrinkle mask. While the panda one was for brightening.
The masks were well made but I felt the animal faces could have been a bit more detailed. Some of the print was very light.
These masks are sold in a multipack box.
Variety pack sheet masks
Some brands also creates variety boxes. These may include a set number of masks to help improve your skin or help with your skin needs
Ordonne Sheet Mask Variety box
I liked this ordonne variety box because it offered three masks for common skin care concerns.
the box included 3 of each mask: Acne prone skin: Green tea, Tea tree and peppermint Dry skin: Aloe, Avocado, and Cucumber Dull skin Egg, Bamboo, and Charcoal Wrinkle prone skin: Vitamin, Red ginseng, and Collagen
I tried two masks out of this box and I liked them. They were soothing to the skin.
Which mask is right for you?
Everyone has different skincare needs so it may be a trial and error process until you find the one for you.
