Back in January, I was selected to test a new product from Shea Moisture thanks to Top Box Circle. The product happened to be a deodorant.
I wasn’t even aware that Shea Moisture made deodorants. When the product arrived I was excited to see how well it worked.
The product
. This was the Moisturizing formula that has Shea butter and hyaluronic acid. The deodorant is a stick. It comes in a basic eye-catching container.
The stick includes a plastic protector which can be removed by twisting the base of the container.
The stick is white but is a solid white stick yet seems soft when applied to the skin.
This product includes Shea butter and hyaluronic acid. This was the first deodorant I’ve tried that included both ingredients.
As soon as I opened the container I could smell the shea butter. It’s not overwhelming but it’s noticeable.
ingredients (source shea moisture)
Shea Moisutre notes that this list may change so always consult the packaging for current ingredients.
Water (Aqua), C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Synthetic Wax, Glycerin, Calcium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Glycine, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal
My user experience
The deodorant is pretty straightforward. I applied it once in the morning and went about my day. The texture of the stick is soft yet it doesn’t leave any white marks on the skin. You do notice the shea butter scent. It lingers but mellows over time. I did notice that the application may be a bit tricky.
I liked that it wasn’t heavily scented but when I took my shirt off at the end of the day I noticed that the shea butter scent was still on it. I didn’t have any staining or other issues on my clothes. Just the lingering shea butter smell.
How effective is it?
I found it worked okay. I used it when I had a cold so I was sweating a bit more than usual. It seemed to be a bit effective. but with any new deodorant, it takes time for my body to get used to it. So I did experience wetness.
The one thing I liked was that the shea butter worked with my chemistry. I didn’t smell bad or have any type of odd smell at the end of the day. I also didn’t notice any discoloration or darkening of my underarms.
I’m not sure how the hyaluronic acid affects the skin of your underarms aside from plumping it and making it look smoother.
I will add that once my underarms dried my skin was dry.

final thoughts and where to buy
final thoughts
As a whole the Shea Moisture Moisturizing deodorant is different. It offers a Shea Butter and hyaluronic acid blend. The only scent you notice is shea butter. This isn’t too overwhelming but it may not be the only scent someone would like. I liked that it didn’t leave any white marks on my skin or clothing. But there was a lingering scent of shea butter on my shirt. The product was somewhat effective. It didn’t combat wetness but I think with longer use this may change. I liked that I didn’t smell bad at the end of the day. I just smelled like warm shea butter. I didn’t have any other adverse reactions either. The deodorant seemed to melt into the skin and rinsed off easily at the end of the day.
where to buy
I found that the products can be found at Shea Moisture, Walmart, and Amazon (twin pack).
Shea Moisture has a wide variety of deodorants. They are all out of stock currently but you can still view the entire collection.
A single product retails for around $10 USD the twin pack retails for $15 USD. Prices may vary by retailer.
Thanks to Top Box Circle and Shea Moisture for the sampling and testing opportunity.
