In January I was selected to test a few Shea Moisture products thanks to Top Box Circle. I shared about Shea Moisture Moisturizing deodorant in a previous post.
Well, the following week I was selected to try another deodorant. This one was from Shea Moisture and was the Manuka Honey & Retinol Smoothing product.
The product
The Manuka Honey & Retinol Smoothing deodorant has shea butter in it as well as Retinol and Manuka honey. The dodorant comes in an eye-catching container.
It’s a standard white stick. It includes a plastic guard that can be removed by twisting the bottom of the container.
Ingredients (source Shea moisture)
Shea Moisture notes that ingredients can change so please consult the product packaging for the most current ingredients.
Water (Aqua), C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Synthetic Wax, Glycerin, Calcium Chloride, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Glycine, Fragrance (Parfum), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Honey, Retinol, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Cinnamate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Coumarin, Farnesol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool
Is the product effective?
As with any new deodorant, your body may take time to adjust to the product. I found that I liked the formula. It applied easily to the skin without causing any irritation or adverse reactions. It has a light scent It’s a light and airy scent. Not floral yet not sweet either. I can’t pinpoint it.
The deodorant is light on the skin. It did keep me dry for the most part. But I did wear it when I was out running errands and in warmer environments. I did have wetness but not much odor. I smelled more like the product. Which was a plus. So it was okay but I think longer wear may be needed for me.
The product claims to have had up to 48-hour protection but I felt for me this wasn’t accurate. This may vary from user to user.
As for the Manuka Honey and Retinol, I’m not sure what they are supposed to do aside from adding fragrance and smoothing the underarm skin.
What I liked
I liked that the deodorant didn’t leave white marks or darken my underarms. I liked that I didn’t have any adverse reactions or skin irritations. The scent worked well with my body chemistry. I didn’t have any odd or funky smell at the end of the day. I liked that the product doesn’t have parabens or mineral oils

Final thoughts and where to buy
Final Thoughts
As a whole Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Retinol Smoothing is different. It offers some unique ingredients. It didn’t cause me any adverse reactions. As far as its effectiveness I’m still debating it. I also may need to wear it a little longer to see if the keeps me drier for a longer.
