Earlier this year I was in the market to purchase a new external hard drive. The one I had was old and had limited storage space. Well, I did my homework and came across this one. I had never used a Seagate product before so I asked everyone I knew and they recommended it. I was in luck and found it on sale back in July. I was happy with the info I found. You can read more about the models here. You can visit the AmazonΒ link for more details alsoΒ http://amzn.to/2C8bYTrΒ (AmazonΒ affiliate link)

I was happy with its transfer speed. Depending on the number of files and the overall size transfer speed will vary. Today (12/26/2017) I put it to the ultimate test. I opted to transfer some files from my blog hosting site to my external hard drive. I transferred the files using FilezillaΒ  I started my file transfer at around 1:30 p.m. It’s. now and the file transfer is complete. The overall file size is .3.77 GB and the folder containedΒ 62,677 Files, 58 Folders. The full transfer completedΒ at aroundΒ 4:50 p.m. Transfer time was roughly about 3 hours or so. Still not too bad.

Here’s a screenshot of the transfer in process

What I didn’t catch in the screenshot was the transfer percentage bar. Most of the files have transferred within seconds. The one thing that I was very surprised about with this Seagate drive was how quiet it is. I had an older model Iomega drive that would make a loud noise when it would save or transfer files.Β  I can’t complain this drive does its job and I love it.
