I thought I’d give you al an update on the Real Barrier extreme moisture tinted lip balm samples I shared a few weeks back. I finished up the clear lip balm back in September if I recall correctly. I’ve moved on to the tinted (pink) one.

These were complimentary products on behalf of 08 Liter USA and Real Barrier for reviewing purposes.

You can see my original video post below.

Product overview

The lip balms were very hydrating and didn’t seem too oily. They are stated to help hydrate and protect your lips.

User Experience

as you can see from the photo above the lip balm is a pinkish shade. It is very hydrating and glides on well. It does give your lips a light hint of color but it’s not too harsh.

swatch of lip balm

the swatch was a bit hard to see in the photo above but you can still tell it’s a pink shade. I think this added a great layer of protection to my lips. It also didn’t feel greasy or heavy. I’ve used it under lipstick as well. My lipstick held well and didn’t seem to bleed.

It’s good but…..

This tinted lip balm and the standard clear one were good but I found a few cons about them. They were hydrating and did offer a nice moisture boost to my dry lips. But I found that the slanted design could be a bit of an annoyance. Especially when the balm begins to soften due to use. It can also be a bit difficult to get the last of the product out of the tube. I found this out when I started to get to the end of the clear lip balm. It softened and seemed to melt a bit.

This may be due to the fact that it has coconut oil in it. I ended up using a small spatula to get the last little bit out of the tube. Granted it’s not a big deal but still, it can be a con for some.

Final thoughts

Besides the small issues, I listed in the prior section the products worked great. The tinted lip balm so far is holding its shape well. I like the tube can be twisted at the base to expose the product. Overall this was a nice introduction to more skincare products from Real Barrier. The clear lip balm lasted me a few weeks. This may depend on your usage.

The tinted lip balm seems to be the only one that is available from Real Barrier at this time. you can visit the link below for full information.
