As many of you may have figured out by now I’m a product tester and reviewer. That being said its been an interesting journey. What makes it interesting is that I’m contacted by various sellers sometimes on a daily.
I’ve had some rather unique requests in the past I thought Id share. Most were very basic ones for products and maybe even social shares. Others were a bit more surprising.
Like direct ship product review requests are a bit mind-boggling. Some as I mentioned above are for general things from salt shakers to pillowcases.
What’s the request about?
Most of the review requests are from sellers hoping to boost their Amazon ranking or are hoping to have what is listed as a Verified buyer review. That means someone purchased the product and is leaving a valid review. Before you start Yes there can be a number of fake reviews listed via many websites including Amazon.
Most of the request can be auto-generated or auto-translated if the seller is from overseas. But basically they send out an email asking for a product review.
Heres an example of a recent email. This seller basically crated one mass email request and sent it out to everyone.
Some include images like the one I shared above others may just have a link or a simple reply back if you’re interested.
Before I go any further let me make a note.
This request had a PayPal payback. Now according to Amazon’s terms of service, this is a violation. Just an FYI. Hence my no longer being able to post reviews to Amazon. In my opinion, they are very aware of these shady sellers but chose not to do anything about them.
Once you agree to review a product the seller will give you their terms. Lately, its been the PayPal reimbursement. Then again every seller is different.
The kinkier side of product reviews
For a short time, I had a number of rather kinky product request. By far I’m not a prude but it always made me laugh. Nothing like going through the course of your day checking your email to find a request for nipple clamps.
Can we point out how cheap these look? They look like something you can assemble with stuff you buy at the Dollar Tree or your local 99 cent store.
Other stuff just made me think too much such as the request to review butt plugs.
Now, these I have so many questions about. Personally I don’t think they’d be comfortable but that’s just me. Some are also a bit more pointed like this one.
Now the one that got me and I thought was my favorite request was for the wrist and ankle strap restraints. The one I found via Amazon is the kind you slip under your mattress the ones I was asked ot request slipped under the wheels of a bed frame. It’s still the same idea right.
These request did give me a good laugh. Being single it’s sort of funny to ask a friend to come and tie you up. Well, the same goes for the other products listed. Hey if it’s for you have at it but for me, I was like no thanks.
But then again I guess I could have had my own little Closer moment

sorry, I couldn’t help myself I had to add the Nine Inch Nails reference.
I will say this much those kinky review request taught me a lot. I learned that some of the sex play kits are quite pricey. Anyways let me get back on track before I go off on a ramble.
So as you can see there are surprises
Product review requests are always a mixed bag. Some are for general day to day items. While others are a bit more on the kinky side. Either way, it’s a fun journey.
Have you had some unexpected product review requests?
