I don’t know about you but I had never even heard of Bear claws or any similar product. I came across them via Tomoson.com. I applied to review them and to my surprise I was approved. The Bear Claws came with a carrying/storage bag which is great. I was eager to open them when they arrived.
I was surprised to see that they are made out of a durable plastic. According to the manufacture they are heat resistant up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and dishwasher safe. They are primarily used to help shred meat. You can use them to handle meat or to help cut fruit or even as salad tongs in a pinch. I used it to help me cut a water melon slice. When you use them to shred meat you let the meat rest about 5 to 10 minutes. Then you use one Bear Claw as an anchor as you shred the meat with the other Claw.
The plastic tines offer a good secure hold when using it with fruit. For cutting the water melon I placed the tines in the flesh because we had cut the melon in half.
You then slice like you normally would. With the the claws support it helps to make a smooth cut and helps reduce rocking. Once my slice was removed I used the Bear Claws to move my water melon slice to my plate.
Bear Claws offer a secure hold on food be it when slicing , moving or shredding. The Hand holes are perfect for any size hands. They feel comfortable in your hand with out feeling awkward or bulky. They are light weight and easy to store. They are easy to clean just rinse with soap and water. If you’d like a more thorough clean you can place them in the dishwasher on the top rack. So far I am very happy with my this product. Bear Claws would make an excellent addition to any kitchen or anyone’s BBQ accessories.
