CoverGirl Voxbox impressions

image

I was recently sent a Covergirl Voxbox on behalf of Influenster and Covergirl. I was sent two complimentary full-size products. I posted a quick unboxing video the day it arrived you can view it here.Ā Iā€™d like to thank @influenster and @covergirl for the free products and the reviewing opportunity.

Let me share a bit about Influenster for anyone who isnā€™t familiar with the website. Itā€™s basically a community you can join for free.

You can review products and learn about new products. You can even ask questions about products you may be interested in but arenā€™t sure if they would be worthwhile for you to use. When you sign up you create a profile. Once you get that all out of the way you can earn badges through different activities. You can also be selected to test out a vox box. The boxes vary so are physical boxes with full or travel size items. This also depends on the product. Or you can be enlisted to complete a digital vox box. Ā You also conduct short surveys at times to see if you qualify for vox boxes as well. Influenster also has an app as well.Ā

Hereā€™s an example of what your profile may look like. I took a screenshot of my own.

Now that I have that long-winded explanation out of the way lets get back to the topic at hand.

What the box included

image

The box included two of Covergirlā€™s latest products.Ā

This happened to be the Peacockflare Mascara and the Melting Pout lipstick.

I will admit that the lipstick color wouldnā€™t have been a color I would have picked for myself. Then again I shouldnā€™t complain you canā€™t beat free right?

Peacock Flare Mascara

image

The mascara tube is very colorful as you can see the color I was sent was sent the Extreme Black mascara.

Itā€™s easy to open and I liked the wand. The applicator end is a nice size and it seems to be a flexibleĀ plastic.Ā

image

Itā€™s a little hard to tell from the picture but the applicator has a bit of a twisting design to it for easier application.Ā

I applied it to one of my eyes and This was the result

image

The Peacockflare mascara dried quickly and didnā€™t seem to clump. I think it held up well to the flare claim. it did give my lashes a nice swooping flare.Ā

image

The color is noticeable but not too overwhelming. You may have to apply more then one or two coats if you are going for more of a dramatic look.Ā

I found that the mascara wiped off with some cleansing oil. it didnā€™t leave my lashes sticky or tacky after I removed it.Ā

Melting Pout Lipstick

image

As I mentioned earlier this wouldnā€™t have been a color I would have picked. This happened to be #100 Gelebrity. There are a total of 12 shades sold for this product.Ā  Itā€™s a basicĀ liquid lipstick. You apply it by gently squeezing the tub until the lipstick feeds into the tip.Ā

For this photo, i was trying to show you how the applicator end was a foam type material and that the lipstick feeds into it via small holes.Ā

image

This shows you the color a bit better. To me, itā€™s a mix of a brown and a berry color I think. I usually like berry colored lipsticks but this one was a bit dark for me.Ā

The lipstick applies well and didnā€™t leave my lips tacky or sticky. I also didnā€™t think it left them dry either.Ā

Hereā€™s a photo showing you a combination of the Peacockflare mascara and the Melting pout lip color

Hereā€™s a picture I took today(12/6/17) just wearing the lip color For this picture, you can see the lip color looks a little more on the brownish side as opposed to the above picture where it looked a more berry in color. I will admit this may also have to do with the lighting as well.

I found the lipstick wiped off well and it didnā€™t stain my lips.It also didnā€™t seem to dry out my lips for the short time I wore it either.Ā

Final thoughts

All in all, I think the products worked well. The Peacockflare mascara would be good for daily use or for a special occasion. The Melting Pout lipstick would be great to keep in your makeup bag or purse to use when youā€™re on the go. The color selection for the lipstick is a bit unique so you will need to find a color that fits you. Thanks to @influenster and @covergirl once again for the free samples and this product review opportunity.

Have you tried either of these products? What are your thoughts on the topic donā€™t forget to share them in the comments below.
