Neighbors we all have them be it you live in a house, apartment, condo ect. For the most part i’ve had good neighbors. Yeah we all might have the party neighbor or the occasional loud neighbor but that usually passes.
I’ve lived in my house for nearly 20 years. By far one of my neighbors has been the bane of our streets existence for many years. You may be asking why? I’ll show you.
Granted I know it’s not right to call out one’s neighbors but there is only so much a person can take. Yes, my city has left notes with my neighbor. I’ve even seen when city employees make said notes. For a number of years after we moved in the house was empty. Said neighbor was living in another city. I get that but now that they are home again nothing has changed.
I’m tempted to throw a packet of wildflowers into their yard and see if they grow. Now that we have had more rain here in California it’s nice because at least there’s some green in their yard now. Most times of the year it’s a sad shade of brown. There was even a tumbleweed growing not long ago.
Even my mail carrier made himself a little trail through the neighbor’s yard. When we pointed it out to him he just said “Eh.” There are a few days I’m tempted to go out with the weeder eater and trim all the weeds. To be honest I wonder if i do either of these things if my neighbor will even notice. With my luck, I’d probably be scolded.

Once again I know i shouldn’t call out my neighbors but let’s be honest I think many of us have to deal with an eyesore in our community. Don’t even get me started about the state of this neighbors backyard. I just hope that none of their trees take down a power line that runs through our yards. Again yes I have contacted my city to have assistance for them but I was sent back a door hanger notice with a note on it. Now at that, i just laughed. You would have thought the city worker would have left the notice at the neighbor’s house not sent it to me. But that’s neither here nor there it’s just silly.
Either way, I think we all have our own way of dealing with neighbors. in our own way. At this point, I guess I should be happy that my neighbor’s weeds are helping the butterflies and pollinators in my community. It also beats seeing dead crunchy grass or weeds.
