Need a gift for mom? Gift her a new scent

Mother’s day is coming soon. So if your like me and are not sure what to gift your mom why not try a scent. The scents don’t have to break the bank. Many offer smaller-sized travel products.

Things to think about

There are a few things you need to think about before buying a new scent. You can try to narrow down scents your mom likes.

Also, raid her perfumes and see which ones you think would be best for her. Some moms like a more light and airy scent. While others might have a mix of fresh, floral, or woody ones.

Another thing you can take into consideration is the application method as well. Some scents are in spray bottles or spritzers while others may be dabbed or rolled onto the skin.

Once you have these key points narrowed down you can find a new scent.

Floral scents

I’ve tried a few floral scents that I loved. Some can be a bit too overwhelming or even give some folks a headache.

YSL Libre

This has been one of my go-to scents for a while now. I will note they have 3 versions of this scent. I’ve tried the original which is a bit more of a floral with hints of citrus blossoms.

This scent can also be found at department stores and Sephora.

Aerin

This Estee Lauder brand has a number of floral scents. They are fresh and light and inviting to the sense.

I love how this brand blends the scents. They offer a variety of options as well.

Citrus scents

I’ve tried a few that tend to have more of a mix of citrus and floral notes.

My Way

This scent is light and airy. To me, it has more citrus notes that blend well with the floral notes. This is a perfect scent for spring and summer.

Clinique Happy

This scent to has more of a grapefruit undertone. I don’t wear it often but it’s a unique combination.

Other scents worth mentioning

Tom Ford Rose Prick

This scent was a bit unique. It’s a dusky rose scent. It wasn’t really my thing but for someone who likes a deeper more amber-rich scent, this may work.

It has a rose, star anise, and cardamom with a hint of sweetness (that’s the way I perceive the scent.)

This scent can be found at select department stores and Sephora.

Skylar scents

These scents are new to me but I liked the product I sampled. it’s Honey Suckle dream.

This is a rollerball product. I found that they lasted a few hours after applying. It’s a nice scent and a little goes a long way.
