I recently joined the Peekage app. I was notified that I was selected to try a powdered collagen product. I figured I’d give it a go. I’ve heard good things about collagen and how it can help improve your hair nails and overall skin health.
I would like to note although the product was free I did have to pay a nominal shipping fee of under $6 USD.
The product
This was the first time I’d heard of Reserveage Nutrition. Their collagen candy powdered collagen is sold in boxes of 20 and 40 count. The packets are individually sealed. The packets can be taken in a drink or directly by mouth.
Collagen candy is sold in Sour apple flavor.
According to the box, you may see results in as little as 8 weeks (when taken daily). It’s stated to help improve your skin’s appearance, elasticity, and nails. As well as help improve your own collagen production.
You can take one packet daily. the packets have an easy-to-open pull seal.
Collagen candy is Gluten-free, dairy-free as well as keto and paleo diet friendly.
ingredient list (source Reserveage product page)
The product box states it includes vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.
Verisol® Bioactive Collagen Peptides®: sourced from bovine
*Based on a 60mg daily value*
Vitamin C: as ascorbic acid
Hyaluronic Acid: as sodium hyaluronate
Other ingredients include: Citric acid, natural flavors, rebaudioside A (from stevia).
my user experience
According to the box you can take Collagen candy straight without mixing it into a drink or water.
I tried this the first time I opened a packet.
Let’s just say it didn’t go too well.
The packets contain a fair account of collagen powder so pouring it into your mouth can be a bit much. You may need to take it slowly. I found that the product tended to lump on my tongue. it did dissolve but took a moment to start to break down. Also, the sour apple flavor hit me quickly so it was a bit off-putting.
I ended up having to drink some water to finish getting the collagen candy down.
So I’d suggest if you are not a big fan of sour apple flavor try to mix it into a drink of your choice. I mixed it into orange juice recently and found it wasn’t too bad.
Today I mixed it into a glass of water.
It’s easy to mix into any drink of your choice. I found that when I mixed it seemed to mellow the sour apple flavor a bit as well.
It doesn’t clump or bind up when you mix it into a drink. it did leave my water looking cloudy after I poured and mixed it.
I liked that even though the water looks cloudy the product dissolves well and didn’t leave any residue on the bottom of the glass.
If you add Collagen candy to juice it didn’t seem to change the appearance or color.
Does collagen candy work?
Well, I can’t say if it does or not. I’ve only used a few packets in the 2 weeks I’ve had the box. I’m pretty bad at taking supplements. I’m trying to be more consistent and take it regularly.
I will say that I found that I could handle the sour apple flavor better when I mixed it in water or another drink. The flavor isn’t very appealing to me.
With that being shared if you are someone who takes it as directed you may see some improvements in your hair, skin, and nails.
But let’s remember everyone is different so results may vary from user to user.
is there an aftertaste?
I didn’t have much of an aftertaste. You do have a sour yet sweet taste due to the flavor. But since it is flavored with Stevia I didn’t notice much of an aftertaste.
Is it gritty or chalky?
Collagen Candy isn’t gritty or chalky it dissolves well when mixed in a drink or water. When poured directly into the mouth it may take time to fully dissolve depending on how dry your mouth is.
final thoughts
Overall the idea of Collagen candy is good. You ship having to take a pill or capsule or gummy. All you need is to open a packet and pour. For me, it’s pretty convenient and easy to use. I found the packets easy to open.
They can be used when on the go and you can keep some in your bag or at the office. These would be perfect for someone who travels as well.
The only turn-off for me about Collagen Candy was the flavor. I would have liked something a bit more mellow or even an unflavored product.
But they are reasonably priced (at around $20 USD) and can be found at Reserveage, Amazon, and select retailers.

Product update
I finished the last packet
I finished up the last collagen packet today (9/16/2022). I can say that the product was a unique way to take collagen. Since I didn’t take the product daily I can’t attest to its claims of stronger nails, hair, or even smoother skin.
But I can say it is an easy way to take collagen. It did dissolve well in water or juice when mixed fully. I did feel that the sour apple flavor was a bit off-putting for me. I liked it best when mixing it with orange juice which seemed to cut the sour taste. I also thought that it dissolved better as well.
What I can say is that the product is easy to use and take. If you follow up with the correct usage in terms of daily use for the set number of weeks a box allows you then you may see some results. Everyone’s results will vary.
Is it worth the price?
After finishing the box I would say it’s comparable to other powered collagen brands. I think the key factor here is whether will you use it. The packets are a nice touch because you don’t have to carry around a small container or vitamin bottle.
If you are someone who likes sour products or can tolerate it this may be a product for you.
