I recently contacted a number of companies to ask if they ever collaborated or partnered with bloggers. Well, one of the companies I contacted was DERMA-E I have used some of their skin care products in the past. I reviewed a number of them you can read more here, here, here and here. I will be honest and say that I’ve emailed so many companies over the past few weeks I’ve lost track of which companies replied back and which didn’t. I suggest you make a list if you opt to take this route.
Well, imagine my surprise when I opened my front door to find a box from DERMA-E on my front step. Before I forget I’d like to give a shout out to DERMA-E along with a big THANK YOU for allowing me to review these products and sending me the free samples.
The Box
I was very excited to see what the box contained. Once I opened it I was met by this.
I was sent a nice info card along with a headband, DERMA-E new Nourishing Rose Cleansing oil and a Microdermabrasion scrub.
I wasn’t familiar with either product so I was very eager to try them.
If we start from the top the headband is self-explanatory but here’s a picture of me wearing it anyway.
The Products
Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil
This is a very interesting product in opinion. I’ve never used a cleansing oil so it was a learning experience for me. I will say this a small amount goes a long way to help remove any impurities, makeup or dust off of your face. You can use it twice daily. I loved how it left my skin looking hydrated and dewy after I wiped it off. I will have to try it when removes makeup. I loved the rose scent. The scent is inviting and soothing. You smell the rose scent as soon as you open the box.
The oil absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t leave your face and neck feeling sticky or tacky. it also has Argan and Jojoba oils in it as well. It rinses or wipes clean off the skin. I used a cotton round pad to remove it and I found it worked wonders. I will say this the bottle is glass so you will need to take care not to knock it around too much. The pump dispenser is easy to use and gives you about a dime size of oil per pump.
Microdermabrasion Scrub
This is the first time I’ve ever used a microdermabrasion scrub as well. I’ve used other facial scrubs that contained sea salt but nothing like this one. The scrub also includes Citrus oil blend of orange, lemon, and lime. It also has Jojoba oil too.
As you can see from the picture the scrub is a white. I can liken it almost to a paste. You apply it to your face and massage it into your skin in a circular motion for up to one minute. You feel the effects almost immediately. My face started to tingle a bit. As you work the scrub into your skin you smell the citrus blend. The salt crystals are fine yet gritty. You feel them. You can use your fingers or use a facial brush to work the scrub across your face. I did both and I think I had the same effect.
I will suggest you use a spatula if you have one because the scrub is a bit thick and you can end up with more on your fingertips then you need. One suggestion I do have is since the scrub does contain citrus you may want to use it at night or use a sunscreen following your skincare routine if you use it during the day. I’ve been using both products at night before bed.
This was a picture I took last night when I used it and you can see it coats your skin well. You can use this product twice a week. The scrub rinses clean off your face. You can also use a washcloth to remove it too.

So I can say this much these two products did the trick for me. I found the worked will together and left my skin looking better. Neither one of them caused any adverse side effect nor did they irritate my skin in any way.
