I thought I’d share with you about my morning skincare routine. Okay, I admit it I didn’t take great care of my skin over the years. I’m noticing the effect of that now. I didn’t really step up my skincare routines until a few years back when I was in my early 30s.
I’m glad I did this because at least my skin doesn’t look as has bad as it could have I suppose. But either way, I thought I’d share a few of the products I currently use during my morning routine.
What do you need?
Your morning skincare routine can vary by how much time you have to get ready. Right now I have time but I like to keep it pretty basic. By this I mean I use a cleanser, toner and a moisturizer. I may add another product depending on my mood or my skins needs that day. But let’s start off simple shall we.
I know skincare can be overwhelming when you start out. If you’re like me and you have dry skin sometimes this may even be more of a struggle. I used many products in the past that made my skin feel worse. I’m only now beginning to find products that suit my needs and my skin type. Again this may be a bit of a trial and error process for us all. Also, not every product is a one size fits all product. Even if it states for all skin types. I’ve tried products that have left my face feeling like a desert. Others have never absorbed into my skin so i felt like had a greasy mask on.
My routine
Cleanser
I use a simple cleanser. I happen to have one from Babor that I liked. It’s a powder that turns to foam so of when you add water. I like that its gentle on my skin. I will say that since its summer i use it more often. I saw a post from Babor recently that stated the cleanser can be used once a week for dry skin. I tend to use it about once a week during the winter months. You can use the cleanser in the morning or in the evening.
you can check out my original video post to see how the cleanser works.
Toner
I liked this Real Barrier toner. It’s lightweight and easy to apply. I liked that it didn’t dry out my skin very much. I also didn’t have any adverse interactions with any of the cleansers I’ve used so far. I also didn’t have any stinging or redness either.

Face Oil
Now, this is an option you can exclude if you like. I have a few of these sitting around so I might as well use them right? Well, This facial oil by Derma-E is very nice. It’s lightweight and has a bit of shimmer to it thanks ot mica powder. The Radiant Glow facial oil is quick-absorbing so you don’t have a greasy feel to your skin. I have an added tip for this product but this goes hand in hand with my final step.

Moisturizer
Being that I have dry skin a good moisturizer is a must for me. I’ve tried many that work okay. Others were just too heavy or greasy. Some just didn’t do anything for me at all.
The moisturizer I’m using currently is a brand that is new to me. Nutra Brasil. I was sent a sample to review. I liked it. The texture is thick yet it absorbs quickly. It also has a refillable product pod. So instead of having to throw away the jar you just recycle the insert.
As you can see from the slideshow above the product includes a spatula. This is great because it helps from contaminating the face cream. Don’t put your fingers in your creams or cleanser jars people. No matter how clean your hands are you still have contaminants under your nails. You can see my video post on ways to avoid skincare product contamination here .
The moisturizer has a unique consistency. It’s almost like a gelatine quality but once you warm it in your hands it applies well to the skin and absorbs quickly. It does have a bit of a strong scent but that dissipates in a minute or less.
Before I forget remember how I mentioned a tip for facial oil in the last section. Well, I found out that if I add a few drops of my face oil to my moisturizer it helps keep my skin more hydrated. You may want to spot test this first to make sure that your moisturizer doesn’t separate or have any other issues.
So…
So that’s my basic routine for my mornings. As I mentioned before you can add or remove products to fit your needs. As long as your routine helps keep your skin looking fresh and hydrated that’s what’s important. You can visit the links provided to learn all about any of the products I shared today.
Feel free to share some of your skincare products in the comments below. Next week I’ll have a post about my current nighttime routine.
