I don’t know about you but lately, I’ve been having a hard time finding cleaning products. Especially antibacterial ones. So during a recent shopping trip, I had at Target.com I figured I’d order something from method.

I’ve used method products in the past. I remember sharing a laundry detergent a few years back. I placed an order for Method Citron Antibacterial All Purpose Spray. I figured that would be better than nothing at this point. The product arrived last week and i tried it over the weekend.

The product

This all purpose cleaner is stated to kill 99.9 % of germs. The product can be sprayed onto a surface and left up to 10 minutes before wiping it clean.

There are a few exceptions, however.

method suggest you not use this product on the following surfaces:

  • varnished wood
  • natural stone ( i would like to add porous surfaces too)
  • brass
you can spot test a surface in an inconspicuous area to see if the cleaner causes any fading, discoloration, etc.

The bottle has an easy to use trigger handle and a spray nozzle that can be adjusted to to fit your needs. It also has a trigger lock if you twist the nozzle into the off position it will lock the spray.

This method product is citron but they also sell in a few different scents. Since I figured this would have a bit of a citrus scent I thought i’d like it.

ingredients (source method product page)

5% citric acid and 95% inert ingredient (This was all that was listed with out having to contact them for full details.)

User experience

As I mentioned I was able to try the product over the weekend (7/5/2020). The trigger spray works smoothly with out catching. The bottle is easy to hold. I found the spray pattern is a bit wide so you may only need to spray a surface a few times. This may depend on the surface you are cleaning.

It’s suggested you spray the surface and let the product sit for up to 10 minutes before wiping it dry.

I used it in my trash can in my bathroom. The spray does have a light foaming action to it. i’m not sure if this happens often or just because I may have shaken the bottle a bit before use.

I liked the scent. It has a citrus smell with floral notes. It’s not too heavy but it may not be for everyone. Overall I found that the scent faded quickly.

For the trashcan i used about 3 to 4 sprays. I was trying to show the spray pattern and width.

I found that the spray didn’t leave any streaks in my plastic trashcan. I also used it on my sink as well as spraying my hamper. I even used it to clean my glass top bathroom scale. I didn’t feel that it left any film on the surfaces I cleaned.

I didn’t think it left the sink feeling sticky either. I even used it to wipe down my faucet handles. Once again I didn’t notice any chemical reactions with the chrome.

Final thoughts

Overall i liked the METHOD CITRON ANTIBACTERIAL ALL PURPOSE SPRAY . The scent is appealing with out being to chemical scented. I thought it was effective at cleaning. I liked that you can spray a surface and wipe it down with in a few minutes time. I didn’t find that it left any film or residue on the surfaces I cleaned.

Now let’s talk about the price point. The product retails for around $3.49 USD (Prices may vary). I purchased it from Target.com.
