I’ve been having bouts of acne lately. Well it’s more like maskne to be honest. I know many of use may be dealing with this especially lately. If you have to wear a mask for an extended period of time you may have noticed a few blemishes popping up (forgive the pun).
I thought I’d share a few treatment options that may help.
All blemishes are different and everyone reacts to certain products differently. These are just a few treatments that may help deal with maskne or even acne.
I think we all know that washing our face and having a skincare routine is great but even with that we may still have blemishes.
Spot treatments
Spot treatments are common. You can place a cream or balm or even a blemish treatment sticker on your pimple to help combat the issue at the source.
Mighty Patches
I’ve tried all the products that Hero Cosmetics sells at this point and love them for spot treatments. They are very easy to use and offer a variety of treatment options.
I will say that they can be worn at night or during the day. They even have some with microneedles in them. All of the products should be used when your pimple or blemish has a head on it.
I like Mighty patches because they keep me from picking at my blemish. You can wear the patch for up to 6 hours or longer. Mighty Patches retail for around $8 USD.
You can check out my video on the original Mighty patch below.
Spot treatment options work well for small breakouts or individual blemishes.
There are a few types of these blemish stickers but I would think they all have similar results.
full-face treatment
Sometimes you need a treatment for a larger area of your face or your entire face. Well you can use things such as a cleanser. Some products work better to fight acne or maskne. Some products may help treat blemishes better then others. Again everyone’s results may vary.
tea tree oil
Tea Tree oil is one of the products that is stated to be an antimicrobial product. It may help with acne treatment as well. I will note that if you opt to use tea tree oil always test it first to make sure you don’t have any adverse reactions. You can also purchase cleaners that have tea tree oil in them as well. The cleanser retails for around $15 USD.
Salicylic ACID
is another ingredient that may help treat acne or maskne. I will say that depending on the product type some products may have a higher percentage of SALICYLIC ACID in them. SALICYLIC ACID in higher doses may cause some skin peeling or irritation. Again this may vary from user to user. You can read a bit more about the gel from WebMD.
For me I found that this acne kit from Derma-E did the trick for my current acne and maskne. This set has 2% SALICYLIC ACID and tea tree oil in the products as well. It didn’t cause any real skin irritation but seems to be drying out my blemishes.
You can read more about the kit here. The kit retails for $24.99 USD.
Cleansing pads
Another great treatment is cleansing pads. These Beautree blemish treatment pads have worked well for me as well. These can be used following your face washing routine.
These cleansing pads are gentle on the skin and have helped dry out my blemishes without causing any drying of the surrounding skin. I also liked that the jar contains 60 pads so you can use it daily or when needed. You can also use them as a mask as well. You can press the pads to an affected area and hold them there for a 5 to 10 minutes.
They are pre-treated with toner and blemish treating products. The jar retails for around $15 USD.

Some toners may help combat or help treat blemishes as well. I recently tried the Anti-Blemish Clarifying Bi-Phase Toner from Derma-E. This toner has tea tree oil in it as well as vitamin E. I liked that I didn’t have any adverse reactions or irritation. It was refreshing to the skin.

after care
Let’s face it we all poke at our blemishes. it doesn’t matter if your treating it or if it’s just popped we can still find ways to treat the skin. So here’s a few ways you can do that.
REscue Balm
Hero cosmetics makes a rescue balm. I liked this product because it can help dry out the popped blemish or help speed healing time. Results will vary of course. It’s easy to use and is priced at $12.99. I found a small amount goes a long way.
You can see my video review below.
Dark spot treatment
Hero Cosmetics also makes a dark spot microneedle patch. This may help correct acne dark spots. Some results may vary. I found this did help with my dark marks following a blemish being popped.
a pack of 6 retails for $12.99 USD.
I hope this post was helpful. Share some of your tips on how to banish acne or maskne.
