When I was contacted by a LuxoLite representative asking me if I’d like to review their product I said sure. I had never used a headlamp before but was curious to see how well they worked., Well when the headlamp arrived in the mail yesterday I was eager to try. I quickly unpacked it and set it up. As you can see from the photo it runs on 3 AAA batteries.
The back of the headlamp has a latch that opens and gives you quick and easy access to the battery compartment. Once that’s done you are ready to go. The overall size of the headlamp is perfect. It’s not too big or too small. The adjustable strap fits comfortably on your head. Once it is adjusted it doesn’t slip much at all. If you will be wearing it for long term wear I suggest you use a bandanna or a hat because the plastic around the strap can hurt your forehead after time.
The Luxolite headlamp has two buttons a standard bright white LED and a Red light button. The right button is the standard light. It has 4 settings.
High offers high quality bright light. It also allows you to see a great distance. I used the High setting last night and was able to illuminate a Palm tree across the street from my house. I also took a picture of the High setting on a patch of grass It is so bright the instant I turned the headlamp on I attracted moths
Medium is less intense but still allows for a wider cast light.
Low is dim but would be great for a short distance walk in the dark such as down a long driveway or to a tent if out camping. It also offers an SOS setting which flashes at set intervals.
As for the left button or the Red light feature it is bright but not as blinding as the standard light. It also offers an SOS feature.
This headlamp would be a great addition to any outdoor enthusiast gear or for an emergency kit at home or in a car. It would also be a great gift for anyone who likes to take walks at night or early morning.
