Updated 9/17/2022 to add an Instagram post about silicone cups.
I’ve bought a few craft supplies lately. I thought I’d share them with all of you. I will admit I’m a arts and crafts supplies hoarder.
I’m always on the lookout for craft paint or other things I might use.
craft paint
I’ve bought a lot of craft paint lately. Do I need it, no but I always like to have it on hand because I never know when I’ll use it.
Earlier this year I took a chance and ordered two boxes of some unfamiliar paint from Amazon.
I used one recently and was pleasantly surprised by it. It was a nice thick viscosity and even had a plastic cork in it so it wouldn’t spill. The paint covered my surface evenly and didn’t seem to bubble. The Shuttle art paint seems to be very high quality. I haven’t tried the ink lab paint yet.
If you like paint pouring you may want to try out this Decoart paint. It’s ready to pour. I haven’t tried mine out yet. If your looking for a paint pouring medium try Artecho.
Craft items
I recently had an idea to make a wind chime. So I picked up a few supplies for this.
I thought I’d add some glass beads and a bell at the bottom. The beads I found were a nice variety. I purchased a few stars and large teardrop products from this brand. I will admit that the stars may require you to use a magnifying glass to string them since they are on the small side. But they do have drilled holes through the ends. The teardrop beads have drilled holes at the top ends.
The bells I found were a nice size and not too noisy.
Other supplies
I’ve been a big fan of silicone mats over the last few years. I actually use an old pet food mat that Pal didn’t like for my paint pours. There have been a few that I’ve purchased over the last year or two that are no longer sold via Amazon.
But here are a similar set. Granted some aren’t very thick but if you are just using them for paint, glue, or general craft projects they aren’t too bad. I like the ones that have multiple-size options because I feel like I’m getting a better deal.
It’s a great bonus if you get a silicone spatula too. You can always use those to mix paints or for other craft projects.
If you are into casting, paint pouring or other types of crafts you may want to invest in some silicone cups. These are pretty handy. I purchased a set recently. I’m hoping to finally use it soon. I feel it’s a bit nicer than having to throw away a bunch of plastic cups after paint pouring projects.
If your into resin projects this kit looks nice.
I hope these product suggestions are something that might help you expand your craft collection.
