Let’s face it after the time you take trying to choose a new cellphone the next biggest challenge is trying to find a case for it. Most times if your like me you have a few options or specs you’d like. No one wants a cheap phone case or one that’s not durable.
Cases range from simple clear pliable silicone to hard case styles. Again everyone has their preferences. Some even want to have their phone stand out.
Are some cases better than others?
I think this depends on the user and their overall tendency to drop their phone. Accidents happen so it’s always better to be prepared and find a case that not only fits your needs but helps protect your phone as well.
are more expensive cases better?
This may depend on what you’re looking for in a case. Also, some may have extras such as card slots, the ability to wireless charge your phone, or even an extra battery.
simple cases
Not everyone needs or wants a durable phone case. This may just be their preference or they may just need something more lightweight to carry in their pocket or small bag.
Some cases may be plastic, resin, or soft silicone.
Here are a few suggestions. Prices may range from inexpensive ($10 and under) to moderate ($15 and up)
Samsung offers a clear case for around $15 USD. It’s basic and protects your phone from minor wear and tear and possible damage.
Amazon has it for a bit cheaper under $15 USD. (price may vary)

artist or decorative cases
Let’s face it not everyone wants to have a bland phone case. So I thought I’d share a few that I’ve come across while searching for cases recently.
I will admit I haven’t purchased any of these but the design or styles may interest some of you. Prices may range from inexpensive to moderate. Prices may also vary.
don’t want to carry a lot there’s a case for that
If you don’t like to carry around a purse or wallet when you go out there are cases that offer card slots. Long gone are the dates of the old-style wallet cases. Okay I take that back they are still around but some have been revamped and look less bulky.
Again these are priced a bit more moderately. Some are even a bit expensive $30 and up. My thing is if you are going to get your use out of it more power to you.
Samsung has one for around $40 that has a flip cover to store a card or two in the slot.
Amazon also sells it.
Here are a few more examples of cases you may be interested in.
if you are someone who still likes the wallet-style cases your in luck they still make them. I found this one.
Rugged or durable cases
I’m one for a more durable or rugged case. I tend to drop my phone often or knocked it off my desk. So I need something that will last. So far all of my phone cases have. As with many previous cases, prices will vary from inexpensive to expensive depending on the brand.
onn slim rugged case
This case is in the moderate price range. It’s around $17 USD. It’s more of a hardshell case. It’s like a polymer with a silicone bumper around the edges.
I was able to test this case thanks to Home Tester Club. The case is rugged and has textured sides. It also has the essential cutouts for the speaker, mic, back cameras, and charging port. It also has rubber button covers.
The fit was perfect. I did notice that it could be a bit tricky to insert your phone since it’s a harder body case it’s not as pliable as previous cases I’ve used. You will need to slide your phone into the case and then pop it into place.
Overall the fit was good I would have liked that the bumper cover a bit more of the outer edges of the phone but it wasn’t as bad as it could be.
I found some cons with this case
The case itself is nice however it’s not considered lightweight. But the slim design would fit well in a bag or pocket.
I also found that the buttons for the volume and on/off were a bit smaller than I liked. The fact that’s also only sold in black is pretty bland too. The Samsung a 53 5G was only sold in black here in the US so I don’t get the black on the black case. Okay it’s not fully black it has gray accents but it’s still sort of boring. Again this is my preference and love of color.
another feature I would have liked was a cutout for the phone’s top speaker. I understand why some companies aren’t doing this but it would be nice to have.
The case may also give you wrist strain due to its weight or if you are someone who uses your phone one-handed. The case also held in a lot more heat than I expected it to. Yes I know if you place a phone in a case it will hold in the heat. But this one was hot to the touch. I hadn’t been using my phone very long but I thought I’d point that out. I ended up peeling the corner up and popping my phone out of the case so it could cool.
The case is durable it has a 12 ft drop protection. The case also has an antimicrobial layer in it.
I couldn’t find this slim case but here’s a link to the similar one.

CraveÂ
This was the case I originally purchased once I decided on my phone. The case is durable and pliable. It has ll the standard cutouts for speakers, charging ports, camera, and mic. The side buttons are a bit larger and have a silver cast to them.
Overall I’m happy with my case. it does hold in some heat but nothing like the Onn case did above. The case offers a textured back. It’s lightweight and doesn’t strain my wrist.
I found it’s easy to clean too. It’s sold in a variety of colors.
Other cases that might interest you. Prices may vary.
the choice is yours
There are endless options for phone cases so the choice is yours. You can pick what fits your needs and style. No one phone case fits everyone’s needs to a degree. So pick one that’s right for you.
