There are a few ways you can save or even earn free products when it comes to buying makeup.
Of course, there are many popular rewards programs out there from the top makeup stores.
Let’s face it makeup can be pricey
We all know that makeup can be pricey. Especially if you are purchasing multiple products at once. So it’s always great when you can save some extra money or even earn a free product.
Every program is different
Depending on the brand always read all the terms. Some rewards programs may require you to make a set purchase amount before earning. Others may allow you to keep your points from year to year. While others might be lost if you don’t shop in a certain time span.
Also, some rewards programs have other extra perks that may earn you extra points such as referring friends or opening emails. Some even give you points for browsing selected products too.
Inexpensive to moderately priced brands
Rewards programs are offered by many popular makeup brands. from High end to more affordable brands. But let’s start with the affordable brands first.
colourpop
Colour pop has 15% off your first order. You can find out more by visiting this link.
e.l.f cosmetics
e.l.f is very popular and has a wide variety of skincare and makeup. they also sell brushes as well. I’ve used a few of their products in the past.
Their rewards program (Beauty Squad) is pretty straightforward. They have a points tier system. It ranges from Fan to Icon. Each point tier has its own perks.
The last time I placed an order I was able to earn a few small sample products as well.

Tarte
I’ve been a member of Tarte perks for a few years now. I’ve been able to get some pretty neat stuff with my points. You also get a birthday discount as well. They have a point tier system and you can also earn points from certain activities.
I was able to get a branded umbrella (compact but golf sized) and a few bags in the past. You can also get free gifts for your birthday as well.

Student Discount
Tarte has a student discount option as well. I don’t know if this can also be combined with the tarte perks rewards program. Find out more here.

Estee Lauder
Estee Lauder has a rewards program as well. Their program like all the others is tiered. You can currently (at the time of post) earn 15% off your first online order just by signing up.

Mac
Mac has a similar program. It’s tiered like the rest but you can also save 15% off your order. The beginner tier doesn’t offer a free birthday gift but the other two tiers do.
I don’t know if they offer any perks for in-store shopping you’ll have to read all about it here.

Other ways to save
You can save on makeup purchases by using Cashback apps or browser extensions.
Each cashback offer may vary by app or extension. But here are my top faves.
Honey
Honey gives you a variety of cashback options for many popular sites. It allows you to apply coupon codes to your card. I’ve even been able to piggyback Honey deals with other cashback offers too.
Rakuten
Rakuten offers a lot of great cashback offers. They can be applied before you make a purchase and you can also look for discount codes. This one however does pay you every three months. You can learn more here.
