It’s kitten season so I thought I’d share about Dometics Shorthair cats.
DSH cats come in all shades and colors. Many of our favorite cats are DSH.
They come in all shades
Many domestic short hair cats come in a variety of colors and coat patterns. They range from white to black to tabby. Calicos count too as do Tabbies.
A litter of DSH kittens may vary in color and coat pattern. A great example of this is Stripes and her brother Mr. White. They also had two black and white siblings.
They are easy to care for
For the most part, DSH cats are easy to care for. They aren’t like Dometics medium hair or long hair cats that can have tangled fur or other fur issues.
They do shed so brushing them once or twice a week may help with that.
Two of the best brushes I found was a mitten that was named the love glove. But the other grooming tool my cats love is the Zoom Groom by Kong. It’s a rubber grooming brush.
I found what would be the newer version of the Love Glove grooming mitten.
They can be very loving
Sam is a good example of this. He loves to give and be cuddled. He also likes to sit in your lap and purr. Like any pet, they can all have a variety of personalities.
But they are loving and many are happy to give love and receive it.
Some love adventure
Dylan is a good example of this he loves to go off on walks on his own. Some cats can be trained to walk on a leash with a harness. I have yet to successfully do this. But I’ve seen videos of cats that travel with their owners.
They’re friendly
Many DSH cats are very friendly. Granted this may vary from cat to cat. But on average they are friendly and accept new friends quickly.
They may also be very welcoming to visitors as well.
All of my cats get along well with their siblings, cousins, and aunt. They try their best to make friends with old grouchy Sophie but sometimes she’s not interested in being friends.
They brighten your home
I love Domestic shorthaired cats because they brighten my home and add love to it. They are playful and can be a bit silly. They also provide us with endless laughs.
If you are looking for a new pet please consider fostering or adopting one from a local shelter or rescue group. There are many cats currently looking for a home. They range in age as well.
They will be grateful for their new forever home.
