I was able to try a sample of Lancome IDOLE recently. Like I’ve shared in the past I enjoy trying out new scents. I can say this much this new Lancome scent didn’t disappoint
Sample Overview
The product arrived in a folder style mailer. It was nicely decorated. To me, every brand has a different way of presenting their perfume products. Lancome is very good at creating a pleasing and inviting product mailer.
As you can see it was very well displayed and included the product sample.
I’ve noticed lately perfume or any scent sample for that matter is different. Some brands will send a scented paper square others may send a small spray tester. Then again I’ve also had glass vials too.
This sample had a perfume filled pouch so to speak.
User Experience
So as I mentioned above the sample was like a perfume filled pouch. It had a snap top.
The sample was in a tear-away sleeve. So basically you snapped the top of the pouch to apply the product.
Heres the tricky part, however, If you’re like me you may apply too much at one time. As soon as I broke the seal I could smell the lovely floral scent. I found that it was light an airy yet floral. It also had a scent I felt it also may have had a hint of citrus to it as well.
I found that it lasted about what I thought it would. Like most scents, it was a bit strong when first applied but began to mellow as I wore it. It lasted about 3 hours before beginning to start to fade. I still noticed it at the end of the day. As It mellowed the other floral tones and ingredients began to appear.
I will say I got one use out of this pouch because I forgot to place it in another container. So the remaining bit spilled out onto the cardboard mailer. Even with that, it makes a lovely scent card for a drawer.
Final thoughts
Overall the perfume met my needs. I would say since its Lancome it is a bit out of my price range but it would be a great splurge gift. I liked how the perfume mellowed to a subtle floral scent. It lasted throughout the day.
I noticed that a small amount does go a long way so don’t go overboard. This would be a great scent for special occasions or possibly even every day depending on your taste.
