Back in 2019, I shared a post about an LA MER sample product I was sent. You can watch my Instagram unboxing post here Overall I set the box aside and didn’t get around to using the products until recently. As you can see from the header image they are very small travel samples.
In 2019 I also shared my thoughts on another LA MER product named The Concentrate. Being that I had tried the previous product I figured these products would be similar in nature.
The Regenerating Serum
Product Overview
The Regenerating Serum is stated to help improve your skin’s appearance over time. I was expecting it to be more of a Serum like product due to the name. But it’s more of a lightweight cream. It’s white or cream in nature. It is hydrating and cooling to the skin.

User experience
Overall I found The Regenerating Serum to be hydrating and cooling to the skin. I didn’t have any adverse reactions or irritation. I also liked the scent it’s lovely. It’s a bit floral yet citrusy with hints of the sea mixed in. It’s not overwhelming or artificial. I’ve been using it at night but the directions state to use it twice daily.
Since this was a travel sample I can’t really attest to it’s regenerating properties but it did leave my face feeling hydrated.
Final thoughts
Once again since this is a travel-sample. even using this sparingly you’d only have a few uses out of it. LA MER is a luxury skincare brand. Currently listed via LA MER website The Regenerating Serum is priced for $365 (USD) for a 1 oz bottle. This price range is out of my usual skincare budget. But I am happy that I found this free sample to try the product out and see what the hype was all about.
Crème de la Mer
The box also included a travel sample of the Crème de la Mer moisturizer. So I thought this sample was great since you were sent two products.
Product Overview
The Crème de la Mer is a moisturizer that is a bit heavy. It’s reminded me of cold cream consistency. It’s white to cream in color.
Crème de la Mer is stated to help smooth and hydrate your skin. It is also said to help heal dry or drier skin. Since it is a thicker cream you work it between your fingers or your palms before applying it to your face.

User experience
Overall the cream is a bit thick and a small amount goes a long way. The issue is again since it’s a sample i can only share my thoughts on the portion I’ve used. I”ve been using it nightly and it’s hydrating and moisturizing. I will say during the first use I wasn’t sure if it absorbed fully into my skin. Now that I’ve used it a few more times. I’ve worked it between my palms before applying it to my face. Once the cream is warmed it becomes clear.
Crème de la Mer is sold in various size jars at varying prices. The smallest jar is currently listed via LA Mer website for $90 (USD for a 0.5 oz) The largest jar is 16.5 oz and is priced for $2400 (USD)
This is beyond my usual skincare budget but I am thankful to LA MER for these samples.
