Back in June, I posted a photo sharing a finished nail look see header image. Well, I thought I’d share a bit more about the Julep nail polish i used. This was from a mystery box I purchased back in late 2018.
You can see the full video post below
I was surprised by how many nail products were in the box. So like usual I set them aside. I shared a few with a friend too.
My experience
Since I’ve been trying to use everything that I have i thought I’d give these two polishes a try.
The shades were a bit unique for me. I liked the bluish hue of Cozette the instant I saw it. Now as for the Tazi shade its a bit of a shimmery greenish shade. I was on the fence on what to do with it so I ran with the idea and just layered them.
One thing i can say about Julep polishes is that they are very nice. They aren’t too runny or too thick. This may vary from product to product however. But these two were perfect. Application went smoothly. I found that Cozette only needed to have one coat. I did touch up and problems that i had once it dried. Dry time was about average. By the time I had finished with my toes my left hand was dry. So if i had to guess Id say around 3 to maybe 5 minutes. This may depend on the temperature as well.
Once I let Cozette dry I added a light layer of Tazi. Tazi is a bit sheer so if you add a small around to the brush it will spread easier. Tazi has a bit of a shimmer to it or I felt it does. I was happy with the final outcome. I also used another Julep product as a top coat.

How long did it last?
Being that this was the first time Id tried Julep nail polish I didn’t know how long it was going to last. On average my nail polish lasts about a day or two before chipping at the nail tips. This was what I was expecting. Well, I think it lasted a bit longer before chipping.
I will admit it did chip at around day three or four. I didn’t notice how long it took before it started to chip. Even though the nail tips chipped they didn’t peel or flake. It also seemed to chip evenly as well.
Removal was easy
To my surprise, the nail polish removed easily. Unlike other polishes that I’ve had to soak my nails with nail polish remover just to get it off. This one, however, was very different. I did have to let the remover sit for a few seconds to maybe a minute. When I fully removed the polish I didn’t see any staining of my nails or any discoloration.
As you can see from the gallery above my left thumb nail was clean and i didnt have any residual polish.
Final Thoughts
I was very happy with my experience with Julep nail polish. it’s easy to use and didn’t cause any staining to my nails. The polishes lasted longer then I expected. Even after 12 days it was chipped but still holding very well. As I mentioned above there wasn’t any flaking or peeling. If you’d like to learn more visit the links below.
