So as you all know I’ve shared about random messengers in the past. Today was no different. I had some long winded good morning message pop up via Instagram Direct Message this morning. I ignored it but replied later just to see what the person wanted.
well here are a few screenshots of how that chat went. Just an FYI there is swear words in the text.
is this a new trend?
I can’t say if this is a new trend but boy have I had a number of people (all the profiles seem to be men yet I’ll still use the term people) message me looking for love. It’s sort of funny because I wouldn’t think Instagram is the right place. Then again who am I to judge.
I just find it amusing that most of these people tend to get upset when you don’t respond the way they are hoping. Case in point today’s messenger.
the Dm’s
So this profile named Turner J had begun following me a few days ago. I didn’t follow back because I don’t follow private accounts. I also don’t follow many people who follow me back. I’m sorry but it’s true. I’ve encountered too many spam or fake accounts to just start following everyone all willy nilly.
That point aside I also found the profile to be a bit suspicious because there profile image looked to be of two kids in Halloween costumes. There also wasn’t any real bio besides a few words.
As I mentioned above the person sent a rather random and silly good morning message. They basically wished me a good morning with some info about the weather where they were. I responded and the chat went from there.
After I responded to see what they wanted they quickly took it upon themselves to share that they had used Instagram for 2 months with out having luck in love. They even asked me if I had found anyone interesting.
What gets me is that all these “guys” all want women who are honest and trustworthy. That usually sets off a red flag. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but when I read that I wonder who would state that off the bat.
Especially to someone you don’t know in person that may not even be on your side of the world. I also don’t understand why people think Instagram is a dating site either but that’s just my thought on it.
Anyway getting back to where I was before the person kept chatting. I pointed out that was nice but I wasn’t sure what that had to do with me. Well that’s when Turner J got mad.
What also gets me is the profiles that just want to make friends. I get it we all want to learn about others but if your asking about being married or being a parent I know they don’t just want to be friends.
Another red flag when I have random messengers ask me if i”m married or have kids right off the bat I know somethings off. You’d think if someone views your Instagram profile you’d stop to read their bio or check out their pictures.
These are the times where I want to type
Do you see any kids in my photos?
Do you see a man in my photos?
Are there any indicators that I’m a mom or wife or etc.
So i opted to tell the person goodbye. Well they didn’t take too kindly to that. Turner J was mad and cussed at me. Now that’s really adult of them isn’t it. I shut down our chat so Fuck you.
When I see such sudden offense i automatically think of a scammer account. There was no reason to get upset over me saying I don’t have time for nonsense. I also don’t get why they claimed I was yelling at them. I guess they hope to confuse the person they are chatting with.
They also went a step further to insult me by saying they blocked me. The laugh is on them I don’t care if they blocked me. If they act so childish they need to go away. I gues they thought i’d cry over being blocked or something.
at least i had a good laugh
It’s comical how these profiles get so offended or upset if you don’t reply to them. Today’s case wasn’t any different then any usual scammer i’ve been contacted by. So again I’m not saying you can’t find love via social media but i wonder.
