Today October 27th is National Black Cat Day.
Smokey wanted to take some time out to say hello. He also wanted to keep his late brother Shadow’s legacy alive by sharing about black cats.
A note from Smokey
Hi, I’m Smokey. I’m a year and one month old. V and her family saved me and my litter mates in October of 2023. I was only 3 days old when she found me.
I’d like to share why Black cats should be in your life.
We aren’t as bad as we seem
For year’s black cats have gotten a bad rap as being evil or linked to witchcraft. This may not always be the case. We are also associated with Spooky season.
Most of us are very loving and caring. We get along with others (cats, humans, or other pets.) Yes some of us may be feisty but most of the time we are just loving little voids.
We like to linger in the shadows and watch the world around us.
We have many names
We’re everything from the void, ink spots, ink blots, and ninjas to house painters. V likes to call me a little black raincloud.
Our eye color is stunning
Our eye colors range from the deepest golden to a stunning shade of green.
My late big brother Shadow had golden eyes and I have green ones.
We are looking for homes
Many people overlook us for adoption. We are in need of loving homes. We will fill them with love and joy. We love to play and give cuddles.
Please don’t pass us by in shelters or adoption centers.
If you’re a black cat owner and lover share about your cat in the comments below.
