Oct. 27th is National Black Cat day. I thought i’d share a quick post about this.
I am now the owner of a very shy yet sweet black cat. I’ve named him Shadow. He and his three brothers enjoy my yard and cuddles.
Basically, today is set aside to clear up the sigma of Black cats. They have been associated with bad luck and witchcraft for years.
You can read more about the day by visiting National day Calendar.
Here’s my personal take on today. Don’t harm or use black cats as novelty decor for the month of October. Yes, they are associated with Halloween but they should be loved all year long.
I for one enjoy my little Shadow. He’s very sweet and timid. Yet he loves treats and occasional pets and cuddles. He’s still a bit feral but is coming around to being socialized.
Please don’t harm black cats because you feel they are evil. Also, don’t shun them for their coat color either.
All cats should be loved no matter what the color of their coat is. Like people, each cat has their own temperament and attitude. But black cats deserve love too.
