I don’t know about anyone else but the fact that Instagram has really started to push users to create reels is just silly. To me, the same thing is going on over on YouTube with their Shorts feature. I won’t even get started on Tiktok.
I know a lot of people like to watch videos as a form of entertainment, education or just to unwind. But I don’t get the needed push on Instagram.
Did we forget about IGTV and how that was a big deal a few years ago? I posted a few over the years during the IGTV rage and I don’t know if my videos were converted to reels or just left as video posts.
What’s the point of reels?
I always figured it was just a way for Instagram to evolve and keep up with other apps such as Tiktok or YouTube.
I guess it was also to give you more creative options aside from photos. They allowed you to pair video with visual effects and audio or music if it’s available via Instagram’s audio library.
If you really want to read what it’s about you can view this info from 2020.
Okay, I posted a reel now what?
According to Instagram reels are the next big thing. So that means you’ll gain tons of views right? Well not always.
I found that sometimes it depends on your content. Some reels may get higher views than others. I don’t know if this has to do with the topic or if they are promoted.
My reels views are all over the place
So from what I’ve learned with Reels is that each one you post may be different. It doesn’t matter if it’s on brand for your content. You may get a thousand views or like five.
It’s a crap shoot. I’ve had some reels gain lots of views and some that have under ten views.
I don’t know if promoting a reel really boosts your views much. I haven’t tried it to see if it does.
I’ve noticed as I mentioned in the previous section that topics or subjects of the video might get more views.
I also don’t know if hashtags ever matter much anymore either on Instagram.
well, what reels get the most views?
I can’t say for certain but I can suggest a few that I’ve noticed.
For instance, I posted this reel to my Nessa6297 Instagram account back on April 6th.
The Spicy Kittens have now reached over 3 thousand views.
I can say this for certain kittens get views.
Another topic that may get views is makeup tutorials. I’ve also seen comedy reels that have some high views.
Again I can’t say for 100 percent certain that each topic will gain you thousands of views.
Another reel that came close to this one was one showing food from November 2022. That one gained nearly 4 thousand views.
The reel that has gained the most views for me was a random video that I took while I was out in my studio crafting. This reel got over four thousand views.
It may be worth testing
It may be worth testing your reels to see what might get the most views for your profile. Granted everyone is different and may have a specific topic they like to share. But if your willing to try you might get more notice.
Is there a key to gaining views
I don’t know if there is any one set key to gain more views. Or even a set type of Reel to post to go viral. All you can do is do your best.
How do you feel about Reels? Do you think they are worth it?
