A few weeks back I was selected by Bzzagent to try a product from Kiehl’s. Well, I was very excited because many of the products I’ve tried in the past were great.
Well, when the product arrived I was thrilled to see it was the Ultra Facial Advanced Repair Barrier Cream. This is a newer product.
The product
The Ultra Facial Advanced Repair Barrier Cream is a bit thick and can be used to help repair your skin’s barrier. It may also help add hydration as well. So you can layer it onto your skin if it feels dry or use it in combination with your usual skincare routine.
The cream comes in an easy-to-use tube. Being that the cream is a bit on the thick side you only need a small amount. The product can be applied when needed or you can use it twice a day (am/pm).
The cream is a white shade.

User experience
The cream is easy to use. I liked that it’s thick so it can help keep your skin hydrated or add a layer of protection to your skin.
The cream is thick so it may be easier for you to use a small amount at a time. It’s a white shade.
If you are someone who isn’t fond of thicker creams you may want to use a small amount first to see if this product is for you.
For me, I liked that it blends out clear once it’s worked into the skin.
When applied to your face it does leave a light sheen. But it doesn’t leave you too shiny. Overall I liked that the product worked well with or without using an additional moisturizer.
I found it worked best if you either mist your skin with a facial mist or lightly rinse your face. You can also use a moisturizer with this.
If you use a moisturizer you may want to make sure it’s lighter than the barrier cream. I tried to blend it with a thicker moisturizer and I felt it didn’t absorb well into the skin. It just sat on top of the skin.
As a whole, I was very happy with the product. My skin is much drier during the winter so any added help is great.
I didn’t have any adverse reactions or breakouts. I felt it did help repair my skin barrier.

Final thoughts
Overall Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Advanced Repair Barrier Cream worked well in helping repair my skin barrier and adding an extra layer of hydration to my dry winter skin. It is on the thick side so you may need to test it to see how much will work best for you. The cream blends out clear and didn’t leave my face too shiny.
I didn’t have any adverse relations or breakouts. It absorbs well into the skin. I liked it best when applied to damp skin. It works great with a lightweight moisturizer.
