Okay, I recently shared about third party follow requests. Well, guess what? They just keep on coming. I had three within a two-hour span today for a brand seeking brand ambassadors. Again you’d think the brand would reach out to people not have some blank or promoter account do it.

This isn’t a new practice

As I’ve shared in the past I’ve had lots of spam or random comments via Instagram over the years. i also had a few self promotion requests as well from brands or people claiming to work with brands.

All of this is fine but in a way, it’s a bit annoying as well. I for one would rather deal with a brand directly and not go through a third party. To me it makes the brand seem a bit unprofessional. I know many sites recruit people to be their promoters but it’s still strange to me.

Follow for a follow counts in this as well

I’ve never been much for follow for a follow. It’s like an endless cycle you can’t break. Nine times out of ten you may not even like the content of a person you are following. Brands are resorting to this tactic again. I had a comment this morning from a brand.

I usually don’t even reply to those comments. I also mark them as spam. I understand that brands need to get their promos in but I don’t find a follow us we follow back comment very encouraging.

I’ve also had some for collaboration requests again from third party profiles. I don’t really care for many collaborations unless I reach out to the brand myself. I’ve had some bad experiences with collabs and sometimes the brands want you to jump through hoops for them.

some are just spam

I understand why some brands are having other accounts reach out to people but it’s just spam. The random profiles that DM’d me within two hours about the same brand used the same exact invite caption. So I’m guessing they are auto-generated messages.

The most random comment I’ve seen so far

On Sunday I posted a random I’m bored which allows you to have people share a comment or ask a question in your Instagram stories.

Well this morning I woke up to find a rather random and interesting comment from a profile. I checked the profile and it’s stated to be a woman who uses the account. She claims to be a cam girl and her account is private.

IG comment 9 21 2020 editied. reads respsonded to your question sticker. "I would Love to kiss Your body"

I saw that this morning and was like ????. But again that was something i didn’t expect to see. I’ve had other silly comments to questions that were basically follow me or generic great content.

I don’t doubt that this will keep happening for the time being. I’ll just keep deleting things or marking them as spam.

Feel free to share your thoughts on the topic.
