I’m always open to trying new products. It’s even better if they are eco-friendly. I was sent a free sample product from the Seventh Generation Generation Good community recently. The Easy Dose laundry detergent bottle is a bit different.
The product
I’ve used sample packs of Seventh Generation laundry products before but this was the first time I was sent a full-sized laundry detergent. The samples i’d used in the past worked great and they didn’t cause me any skin issues or fade my clothes.
What I noticed first off when opening the box was the bottle type. I thought it was dish soap at first. The bottle is a decent size and claims it can wash up to 66 loads. Just like a dish soap bottle, this one offers a flip-top. The bottle is easy to hold and squeeze.
The flip-top design is good because it’s sort t of a gravity feed style dispensing. When you hold the bottle over the soap dispenser you squeeze to release the detergent. Depending on how tightly you squeeze the bottle you may have some extra detergent dispensed. But overall the easy dose design works well.
The washing directions are as follows:
Use one squeeze for normal loads.
two squeezes for large loads.

User experience
Overall the product fits my needs. The scent isn’t what I would call clean in the traditional scent. It doesn’t have a clean linen scent or anything cottony. I noticed hints of lemongrass. I didn’t feel that the detergent left any type of film on my clothing. It seemed to do well when breaking up spots on clothes (results may vary by user).
I didn’t notice that it faded my clothing or other laundry either. The lemongrass scent fades after the clothes are dry or within a day.
Overall the detergent met my needs. I didn’t have any skin reactions or itchiness.
Final thoughts
The laundry detergent met my expectations. I didn’t find any real cons about it. The bottle design is nice because it’s compact and isn’t bulky. You can store it on top of your washer or in a cabinet in your laundry area. The detergent itself wasn’t very thick or goopy. You may want to test how much detergent works for you.
The 32 oz bottle retails for around $13 USD. You can find it at a few retailers such as Target.
