A few weeks ago i was sent a free sample from Nature Lab Tokyo. I left the samples aside for a long while. I found them recently and figured I’d finally give them a try. I tried them over the last two days.

I wasn’t familiar with Nature Lab Tokyo so when I saw the free sample offer I jumped at the chance to try it.

Product overview

I was sent the sample of the Perfect Smooth shampoo and conditioner. The sample packs are easy to open and are filled with a decent amount of product. They were both 0.24 fl oz. The shampoo and conditioner is stated to help smooth your hair and help tame frizz. It’s also stated to help add shine to your hair.

User experience

Nature Lab Tokyo Smooth shampoo & conditioner sample
Nature Lab Tokyo Smooth shampoo & conditioner sample

The shampoo is clear and smells lovely. I noted a bit of a citrus scent. I felt that it clung to the hair yet it didn’t seem to strip it. This may have been due to the fact that it’s sulfate-free. I also liked that the shampoo wasn’t very thick. This may also have been because the sample had been sitting for a while unopened. That’s my take on it. It was a bit runny but it still lathered well.

I felt that the shampoo rinsed well with out leaving my hair feeling squeaky clean.

The conditioner is a standard whitish beige color. It’s creamy and very luxurious. It clings to the hair and also has a lovely scent. I felt it rinsed well and didn’t weigh my hair down. I liked that it left my hair feeling smoother and it didn’t weight it down.

my hair did feel smoother the morning after and it didn’t seem to be as frizzy. I also noticed that my natural waves stayed intact. My hair also felt more nourished as opposed to the current hair care products I’m using currently.

I was able to get two days usage out of the samples. This may vary from user to user if you have longer hair you may use the sample packs only once.

Final thoughts

Overall my first introduction to Nature Lab Tokyo was an enjoyable one. I liked that the Perfect Smooth shampoo and conditioner worked well with my dry hair. It also seemed to leave it shinier than my current products. I also liked that it was easy to rinse out and didn’t weight down my hair. My hair had bounced.

Now let’s get to the price. The set retails for $28 or $14 (USD) each bottle. You can find them at various retailers.

Thanks to Nature Lab Tokyo for these great samples.
