Back in August, I was selected to test and review a product on behalf of Bzzagent. Well, when the product arrived I was surprised to see it was It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare. I was sent shade Tan Neutral 42. I had heard some geat things about It Cosmetics but never tried any of their products. So i was very eager to see how well this foundation worked for me.
I tested the product on a high temperature day. I believe it was 106 F that day. I wanted to see how well it would hold up under warm conditions.
The product
I was sent a full size product. The bottle has a pump top and is 1 Fl oz. The shade i was sent was Tan Neutral.
I found the foundation to be about what i was expecting. It Cosmetics states this product is a medium coverage formulation. I did wonder how dark it would be since it was a Tan. For most products I use I try to find a Honey shade. But since i had to pick from a list of color options i picked the one i thought would work best for me.
If you need a reference to my usual makeup shade here’s a photo from February of this year. I’ll also add one from Dec. of 2018 as well.
On my hand the product did appear to be much darker then my usual shade.
When I applied the foundation to my hand i noticed it was a bit dewy. It also seemed a tad oily. The product does include a few extras usual foundations don’t. Such as Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, and Hyaluronic Acid just to name a few.

The Application
Overall the foundation applied evenly and smoothly. However the box states it is best applied using a foundation brush. I used a blending sponge and thought my skin looked okay.
I also thought I’d try a test to see how long the makeup lasted with and without primer.
I applied foundation only to my right side of my face. Then I applied Primer and foundation to the left side of my face.
i felt the foundation worked well with the NYX primer I used. I didn’t feel like it was too oily or that it affected the foundation in any way. This was actually my first time trying this primer as well.

I felt the color match was a bit off. I also thought i might have applied too much foundation to the left side of my face. I didn’t add any concealer or any setting powder to my finished look. I just wanted to see how well the makeup held upon it’s own.
The wear test
As I mentioned the day i tried the foundation it was around 106 F degrees. I went about my usual routine and noticed that within about 2 hours I had some oxidation. I also noticed that the foundation had rubbed off on my glasses. I’m not stranger to this but this foundation seemed to leave a bit more then usual.
I noticed that the foundation started to look a bit tanner or even slightly orange. This may have just been my indoor lighting but I did notice some oxidation.
As the heat progressed I saw that my pores became more noticeable. Even with the primer. I started to see some separation around my mouth and nose as well. Again those are usual problem areas for me.
I wore the makeup for about 9 or 10 hours before removing it. I can say that I didn’t have any adverse reactions to the foundation.
End of day results
So as I mentioned i wore the make up for around 9 to 10 hours. It helped up well in the heat. However I did notice that it began to look a bit shiny and dewy. That’s not usually something I think i need in my foundation. i thought this was probably a result of the Vitamin E in the product.
No matter what light I was in. you can see that my pores were very noticeable. I didn’t have a smooth face at all. My forehead and chin looked shiny. I also thought it settled under my eyes as well.
The issues i noticed
I notice a few things aside from what i mentioned before. I saw that the foundation seemed to settle into my skin. It also rubbed off my nose and seemed to separate a bit around my mouth as well. I also saw that the foundation had oxidized much more. I thought it had more of an orange hue to it.
I don’t know if these issues were just caused by the heat or if the product will separate in general.
The removal process
I used a standard cleanser to remove my makeup. It seemed to rinse off fairly well. it didn’t leave my face felling oily or greasy in any way. But like with the most foundation you may want to rinse your face twice. I noticed that when i wiped my face with a cotton pad i still had a product that didn’t rinse off.
Final thought
Overall It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare is nice but I’m not sure if it’s for me. The color match wasn’t the best in my opinion. The oxidation was also a bit surprising. I’ve worn foundation for up to 12 hours in varying weather conditions and still not had it oxidize as this product did. I’ll add to the examples below. Granted the examples are from Dec. 12th, 2018 but you’ll still understand what i mean.
I will try this product again to see if the weather conditions played a key factor in it’s oxidation or separation.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare retails for $39.50 USD.
I will admit that is well out of my usual foundation price range. I’m not certain if i’d purchase this product for myself after the first test. But I will try it again to see if i have different results.
